I thought the first one was a really good movie, the main character was incredibly stupid though -- almost unbelievably so. Hopefully, this one is better in that regard.

First one was phenomenal; sort of a spiritual successor to the first season of True Detective. I hope this one isn't the spiritual successor to the second season of True Detective.

The music composer of the first one, Johannsen, just passed away. Its a bummer cause the dramatic soundtrack made that movie so gripping and suspenseful.

It looks like they're Michael Bay'ing it. I hope I'm wrong.

I guess I'm at a loss, how is this movie similar to True Detective? I don't think they could be further from each other.

It felt very similar to me- tension, tone, writing, characters, content, even camera direction.

Why does Michael Bay get such a bad rap? Dude makes sh*t visually epic. People love visually epic sh*t.

Just realized the director is not the same as the first one. Hope it's as good or better.

I'm just not sure I can get past the stupidity of this

The rest of the movie better be Godfather 2 in order to make up for that.

Like previously said, too much Michael Bayish stuff and tone/story seems to take on a different theme- it feels more Liam Neeson "Taken" to me from the trailers (trying too hard).

Like BTG mentioned with that bump firing the gun gif. Theres no need for that. Benecio was a stone cold silent assassin in the first one, a quick shot to the forehead and him walking away is so much better than all that extra **** theyre trying to fill.

Dennis Villenueve, the first director is amazing in everything he does, you should check all his other movies.

The only way I could have enjoyed that scene was if by doing the ridiculous hip fire/move your finger back and forth really fast BS is if they then cut to the guy on the ground and he missed every shot and had to reload and shoot him the right way.
