    Yeah, i'm just kinda joking at this point...and tbh, if Lebron needs to have the Lakers fail in get what he wants to come here, i don't want him.

    This looks like Rockets would be the safest pick...

    I mean it's pretty obvious if we are on the list at all it's as a last resort. He is trying everything to make LA work and is at least CONSIDERING going there even if nothing else works out. Even that dude on twitter saying he's coming here is saying it's a one year "Lerental" and he'll jump to LA next year if we don't win a title.

    He doesn't WANT to be here. He WANTS to be in LA. There might be a slim possibility he settles for HOU.

    The last resort may end up being the most likely. I guess you can say things are fluid.

    Let's do the 1 year rental. Rockets winning a championship with or without Lebron. Don't @ me

    Yeah, the glitz, hype, nice weather, and lack of monsoon season (Houston).....I think his family also wants LA. But he doesn't want to be there if he can't win. So he's fishing. We're a fallback, perhaps.

    Yeah, if that's true (and i tend to think it is at this point, hopefully i'm worng but...yeah) i'm fine if he doesn't come here, i get we're losing a lot by not getting James, but i don't feel like the Rockets should be a plan B to anyone at this point.

    Yeah that's why our front office hasn't ruled out Lebron yet despite everything. we are pretty much plan Z for Lebron is everything goes to shet because he knows he can always fall back on a free championship by coming here

    We MIGHT be a fallback lol, that's what's frustrating. He might still say "eff it" and just stay in CLE.

    Family wants LA
    He wants LA
    The wrench here appears to be Paul George waffling on LA

    Of all things haha, Paul George being in love with OKC could be the savior.

    I wouldn't care about Lebron at all if I thought we could add another impact player regardless. The only reason I'm all in on Lebron is because it feels like it's Lebron or bust, meaning it's either adding Lebron or "running it back." I just think running it back will be a failure.

    SAS:

    I'm hearing word is leaking from Kawhi's side that Kawhi & Gregg Popovich spoke again last night. Kawhi is real salty on the Spurs. It's real. He didn't appreciate being confronted by the players. As Stephen Jackson said, no way that happens without the OK from Popovich. Reality is Kawhi is just not having fun. Spurs are a business like organization. The fun like the Warriors & others have, Kawhi doesn't feel that is the case in San Antonio. He's not having fun. He doesn't enjoy being a member of the Spurs.

    He wants to be in LA. While the Lakers are the preference, he has no qualms about the Clippers. Clippers goal is to go after him in free agency. He'd love to be back in Los Angeles. He doesn't care whether it's the Lakers or Clippers. Philadelphia has not given up. Brett Brown is from the Spurs organization. He is seen to have a good relationship with kawhi. He hasn't given up. Markelle Fultz could be on the table. That's not nearly enough financially & talent wise. Who knows what other parts they'd throw in.

    Lakers, from what I'm told, would have to give up Ingram, Kuzma, possibly Hart who the Spurs like and a pick as well. Now that Kawhi has made it very clear he wants out & it's become public, can you bring him back into that fold without it not being disruptive for the Spurs to deal with? If they had reservations before about letting him go, that has quelled to some degree because of the distraction it could be to the team all year long. Over the next week or so, Spurs will listen more strongly & while they want to desperately hold onto him, they are becoming more resigned to the fact that he's serious about wanting out.

    You hear SAS saying that KD wants to pass Lebron. That should light a fire in him.

    1 year trial run. Make the easy decision. He can go to LAL next year if need be

    that 2018 FRP was the prize there for a super old steve nash. Suns were betting the Lakers would not be good by then and sure enough that pick was #10 (and the suns basically traded back for it from Philly). That Lakers team was going to have a short shelf life given the ages of everyone on that team. Slightly different when its a 26 year old Kawhi

    If LeBron wasn’t strongly considering opting in and either coming to Houston or staying in Cleveland, all these stories the last 24 hours about the Spurs and Lakers making small progress on a Kawhi trade would not be necessary.

    I want Bronny J so we can parlay him into a deadline deal with Minnesota to acquire Jim Butler and Second Round Pick.

    The more I think about it, the more I'd be surprised if Deng was in a hypothetical Laker deal to Phoenix. Not impossible, but surprised. Keep in mind, there are two things that have been very well reported:

    1) Contracts like Deng (or Ryno) likely require at least 2 1sts to move
    2) The Lakers are looking to take on salary dumps to get a quality future draft pick, which they could subsequently move for Kawhi

    For the deal to help the Lakers with Kawhi, condition 2 needs to be met. In this hypothetical, rather than the Suns getting two 1st round draft picks for taking Deng, they'd actually be trading one away. In effect, Phoenix would need to see Lonzo Ball as worthy of three future 1sts for such a transaction to make sense. That seems like a real stretch.

    I think a more reasonable deal would be Ball to Phoenix straight up for Chandler and a future 1st. LA uses some of its cap space on Chandler (but would still have enough to sign LeBron) and gets a 1st for doing so, which they could flip in a Kawhi deal. Meanwhile, the Suns get Lonzo Ball at a valuation of one future 1st, rather than two or three.

    You people just create this narrative in your head with no actual facts. Why would he say he wants houston until it actually happens? If he said publicly he wanted houston and then the deals fell through hes stuck. Ugh people making this **** narrative up and regurgitating it up from others like its fact because people like brussard were talking about it.

    For those wondering, we can now lookup the final results of this

    • 2013 -- 1st => Lakers had two FRP picks that year. So, the pick was actually their 2nd one, which turned out to be #30. Suns traded one up to get Archie Goodwin-SG at #29. Suns passed other SGs -- Crabbe (picked at 31) and Alex Abrines (picked at 32).
    • 2013 -- 2nd => Alex Oriahki -- #57
    • 2014 -- 2nd => Later used in a big 3-way PHX, LAC, MIL trade of Bledsoe, Caron Butler, Dudley, JJ Redick. It would have been the #48 pick (Lamar Patterson)
    • 208 -- 1st => Mikal Bridges -- #10
      * see note, as this pick went through some trades (and was quite expensive to get back), but it is the LAL pick, and PHO did get it back on draft day

    * Interesting article of the 2018 swap between Suns/Phi, which used two Dragic-trade picks to move up from #16 (Dragic pick) to #10 (what would have been Nash pick had Suns not since swapped rights for it in a Brandon Knight trade), by nullifying the swap from Knight trade and adding the 2021 Dragic pick.

    Right this makes sense. Especially if there's no longer a belief that George is signing there. They don't need to move out Deng's contract to get two max spots.
