The Matt Baker guy who first tipped off a story coming today has said #Lakers since yesterday regarding Lebron.
nope. people b****ing about this all have really weird hindsight bias. This board thought we were tanking after Howard left, and thought MDA and that team would bring us 40 wins max. Nobody gave a crap about Ryno's contract stopping us from getting Lebron because literally no one thought we would become a contender in 1 year's time after Dwight drama. without anderson we dont win 55 games, probably don't sign Chris Paul.
If I am the Suns, I am demanding either 2 first round picks or 1 first round pick and 1 young rotational piece. Suns would be an ideal trade partner with the Rockets dumping Anderson but I don't see it happening. Would love to get Tyson Chandler as a backup to Clint and an expiring contract. We would probably have to give the same package as the Lakers although our assets aren't as appealing.
Pretty much. They're sitting at just over $39M in team salary right now. If you swapped Deng for Chandler and renounced all of your FAs and exceptions, then that would save an extra $4.4M and give them around $65M to $66M in space. That would be enough to sign Lebron and George. Of course, all of the speculation has them getting rid of everyone else and opening up max cap space for a third guy. That's less likely.
yup Ryno just got lucky he was a FA at the exact time every player wanted to be. Players all across the league benefited from the cap rise and others wish they could of been a FA at that time. It is what it is. He was a piece that helped the rockets get to where they are now. Things change along the way, specifically the gameplan to beat GS. that gameplan has made some of the rockets not as ideal based on certain matchups. The rockets will adjust but yeah the hindsight bias goes on way too much
Everyone is saying LeBron/Lakers ... except on CF where he's just trying to get the Cavs to participate in an opt-in & trade. 95% Scratch that. We're up to 97% last I saw!
Suns had no problem helping LA form their last "super team". July 11, 2012: The Los Angeles Lakers traded a 2013 1st round pick, a 2013 2nd round pick, a 2014 2nd round pick and a 2018 1st round pick to Phoenix for Steve Nash.
