    ...yeah, only the senior execs...and their outsourcing marketing firm, who is *supposed* to keep a secret...and usually do, if it wasn't for @today's CFBI Task Force.

    Maybe the senior execs greenlit the firm without telling the internal team, who aren't trusted with secrets.

    Those exact details I don't know. I could find out afterwards but not now, simply because it's ongoing and sensitive. The Rockets have an in-house graphic designer who is unbelievably talented based on the work I've seen from him. I would think they have been working on marketing materials for free agency for a long time.

    As far as outsourcing, I would assume some of their print stuff is done elsewhere but I don't know. I know some of their video work in the past has been outsourced.

    What I'm told is nothing changed in this regard. I think everyone is in the dark as far as what is happening.

    The greatest insider info in the history of this board was due to an overheard phone conversation in the Galleria that the Rockets were trading for Steve Francis. Never underestimate the power of the eavesdropper.
    I'd love more insight into this story... I wasn't on CFs for the Steve Franchise era

    It's a pretty well known story. I don't remember the posters name but he posted that he overheard a phone conversation with a Rockets employee at the Galleria (I think) having a conversation about trading for Steve Francis. He was flamed pretty hard and then the story happened just like he said. From that point on it was legend.

    I'm sure someone like Heypartner could tell the story better and more accurate then me.
    It was rocketsfan34 ... aka "The Mall Kid".
    He overheard the conversation while shopping at the mall.
    He's in jail now. Ok, kidding about that last part... no idea what happened to him. :D

    What I recall is that he ended up being the Mall Guy. Also, wasn't it a different mall than the Galleria? Memorial, perhaps? I was lurking back then, starting in the Spring of that year, and it broke the Francis trade. Vancouver had drafted him and he declared that he wasn't going there. The Rocks jumped on it and worked out a deal. ClutchFans (wasn't called that at the time) literally broke the story. When the Mall Guy's info ended up being on the level, a legend was born. The legend of the Mall Guy.

    I haven't read the 20 or so pages before where this post will end up, so if this has been said already, sorry!

    Everyone is pining for a player that will be 34 in the playoffs next year, adding him to a player that will also be 34, and Harden which is not even a top 5 player even though he is MVP this year. The only hope for the Rockets is if Capela keeps improving and Zhou Qi turns into steroid ingesting beast.

    He might be 34 but he plays like he is still in his mid 20’s. The guy is the greatest athlete probaly ever

    I agree with both points about 34 year old and 34 year old LeBron James. I've never seen anything like what we have seen from LBJ tho. Then again, I did see Hakeem, Clyde and Chuck all fall off the cliff pretty quickly as a group of 34? year olds. Sign LeBron if we can no question all in.

    I don’t see him falling off a cliff suddenly because there hasn’t been even the slightest indication of him slowing down. If anything some of the dunks he was throwing this past season was reminiscent of his early years.
