Only way I see it is if PG stays in OKC and the Spurs refuse to send Kahwi to the Lakers. Then Lebron will have to choose playing alone in LA or going back to Cleveland.
Which, you have to admit, is a plausible scenario. I'm not at all confident that it happens, but it wouldn't be all that crazy if it did. I think Morey is prepared for the phone call one way or another.
But why would Lebron sign with Lakers without knowing if PG signs there or if Kawhi gets traded there first? He ain't gonna win it by himself with the current Lakers' roster.
No way I’m buying that. An ultra competitor, the GOAT, a man who now more then ever needs to cement his legacy. You don’t go to LA for family reasons if you can’t win. If he goes it’s with someone, no way it’s solo
Cleveland has no decisions to make , they are at the mercy of Lebron - Either they get some return for him or they don't and that completely hinges upon where Lebron wants to go - If its to LA or Philly the Cavs get nothing at all as its going to be as a free agent with cap space. If its elsewhere its via opt in and trade. The Cav's will take what they can get and be happy they got something instead of nothing.
The Cavs will have to take back salary to trade Lebron to any team that isn't the Magic of Kings. They could choose not to do so and let James walk. Don't kid yourself. If it weren't for the Rockets giving up half the team for CP3 the Clippers would have let him walk too. They had Houston over a barrel.
The Cavs have decided to exit the luxury tax......with or without Lebron. They are going under the luxury tax. And that tells you all you need to know about their chances to retain Lebron.
Tea Leaves Gentlemen. Cleveland to pick up Kendrick Perkins' option for 2018-19 Perk and Lebron are tight. If I had to guess. Lebron is staying in Cleveland.
It makes sense for Lebron to return to Cleveland if he wants to go to LA. His space jam leak is coming, its going to portray Lebron as a kid from Cleveland playing for the Cavaliers. Let Kawahi, Lebron, and PG take one year deals. They can all join together in LA next year with nothing stopping them. Magic just cited the 2 year window. I think money on Cleveland right now would be a good bet moving forward given their odds at 12-1.
Agreed, it’s why I have always believed he will end up here. He wants to BEAT GOLDEN-STATE! This is PRIORITY ONE!! And when all these sorry teams whiff on these homerun scenarios..... He will sit back and realize Houston is the correct play to achieve his only MUST HAVE objective of this offseason. Lebron Harden Paul Capela and whoever is the correct play! so excited for the next few weeks to unravel Get your popcorn ready
we can rule out that Kawahi will be traded to LA. but that's about all we can rule out at this point.
