I don't think he was ever really a fit here, but I know that we have some "insiders" who've suggested he'd play here for cheap so wanted to post the updates: Basically looks like Jordan has no intention of walking away from $24 million. He sees the market isn't going to pay him so he's likely to opt-in even if he won't be a Clipper.
I'd say Dallas goes after cousins before anyone else. they already had their pnr roll center in noel who they dont really care for any longer. They've been looking for a bigger name like cousins for awhile. I dont see any reason why it would be different now
Yeah, i would be surprised to see them go after DeAndre when Boogie is available...maybe they got word he has no interest in going there but... And maybe Dallas think they can actually keep DJ for "cheap" next summer instead of maxing a guy like Clint now...DJ will be 30/31 next summer i think, not sure he would find a contract out there worth more than 60/70M in 4 years imo...that would be around 10M less per season than what they would offer to Clint.
I think its a no brainer for him to opt in , he's not getting $24.2m to play anywhere else next year. Whether they trade him or not is another matter , He has a 15% trade kicker … which would put his contract at $26.83m
I'd take Jordan for one year before signing Cousins to a max like contract coming off an achilles injury. They made the mistake of offering Mathews his contract coming off of it.
It would be interesting to offer Anderson and 2 first and see if Jordan can force that. If we had S&T line up with Capela for LBJ, or George / Butler (3-way deals).
He's so far into the Mavericks closet that it's impossible to see him as anything other than a Mavericks fan.
