You want to greatly reduce legal quotas? Nothing would hurt the economy more over the course of decades.
Well, the good thing is that Trump backed down. The bad thing is that it is such a mess that it is now hard to find the children to reunite. At least we know that this nation will swallow a lot of crap, but they wouldn't swallow this policy of cruelty and Trump had to back down. Apparently, there actually is a limit.
This is just wrong. 1.) It wasn't policy under Obama or Bush. 2.) You don't lose your children when you are detained for criminal offenses. There is no chance that you lose your children. Yes. They are asylum seekers, you can't just change the facts to fit your narrative. Yes, because when you commit a crime there is no chance that you lose your children. They aren't 'Separated' from you in the sense that the Government literally has lost track of your children. They are 'Separated' from you in the same sense as a kid going off to summer camp. The situations aren't even close to being similar. Prisoners still have contact with their kids. So, do you have ANY evidence of your wild conspiracy theory or not?
Funny and quite sad. The facts are pretty clear and they do their best to spin and twist them. What is really F'd up about them is before the election most of these guys were never Trumpers but they all bend the knee when it comes to partisanship.
I haven't been on here for awhile but I remember most of them thinking Trump is was an idiot. He wasn't a real conservative (which he isn't) or republican, now everything he says and does is just untouchable. so you're right it's the first thing I noticed.
Not only that, some of them called him racist, the destruction of the party, etc etc. If I had the time or care I'd post them saying it but I did that once and all I learned is that it was a waste of time. I mean they could call Trump racist then but if a liberal does it that just won't do. I remember how @RocketsLegend was mocked by both left and right users here, yet now it's all good. Republicans have power, so twist, spin, lie away for the good of the party and F the principles I claimed to have. It's not even just here, look at how many Republican politicians bend thy knee to Trump after saying many of the same things. Ted Cruz for example, total cuck mode for Trump after the man insulted his family. It's funny...but also very sad. Kudos to the never trumpers that remained never Trump.
It will be seen if he "backed down"... important questions still remain, like... "what happens when the 20 days are up... do the kids get separated from their parents (again)? Will asylum seekers traveling to open points of entry be allowed to enter or will they be blocked again? And what is being done to reunite children already separated from their parents?
Your "point" is rather empty. If what Obama did in the past (and if he did in the past... your Daily Caller blog pictures don't provide any context), then they were wrong then, and what trump is doing right now is wrong. More broadly... the defense of trump's policy has gone from "its needed, to stop MS13", "to protect the kids" and "its the parents fault" to "its OK to do, since previous presidents may have done similar things"... and a new one "they are not sending their best"?
I have seen this too. There are kids too young to talk. There are kids who only speak indigenous languages. DNA is drastic, but is effective and might be the only way. Also open up for potential abuse
That's not true.....any part of it really. The ONLY difference that was made was the law was enforced more frequently than in previous administrations. The policy for those detained was EXACTLY the same. Also, you absolutely are separated from your children when you are detained for a criminal offense. No matter what you might think, your kids don't go with you to county. Those who show up at a port of entry and file for asylum are asylum seekers, those who get caught sneaking into the country are not legitimate asylum seekers....even if they claim to be after getting caught. The situations are exactly similar, it's just that with American citizens most of the time there's a next of kin to take custody of the kids, with illegal immigrants, that's often not the case so the children fall under the care of the government. If an American citizen has no next of kin and they are arrested for a crime, the government takes custody of their kid while they are detained, exactly the same as they would for an illegal immigrant. In both scenarios it's only temporary....but in the instance of an American citizen it can become permanent if CPS decides to take your parental rights away due to you being an unfit parent. That's something the illegal immigrants don't have to mess with.
Continuously spewing out your inaccurate claims doesn't make them turn accurate. It doesn't matter how many times you do it.
Continuing to vaguely say that my claims are inaccurate without being specific as to which claims or providing some evidence to the contrary isn't going to get you very far. Are you suggesting that people take their children with them to county when they are arrested? Are you suggesting that there was some change in policy beyond merely enforcing the law more often? Are you suggesting that CPS doesn't get involved when a person is arrested with their child? Feel free to be specific and make an argument against it if you want me to take you even a little bit seriously.
I was specific with you earlier Others have been specific with you. I'm not going to keep posting it over and over. You've shown that you will just ignore points made and keep on repeating your own narrative. It's really not worth continuing.
LOL oh here we go again, I ask you to be specific and to back your claims and you always just say "I did that already" or "someone else did that already" so that you can duck the question.....sorry kid, that's not going to work. Again, if you won't back up your claims you might as well be making fart noises and your words will be given that level of consideration.
Stop your outright lies. Nobody making an asylum claim at a port of entry was having their children take away from them. If you choose not to wait to be processed and elect to try sneaking across the border, you’re not an asylum seeker. You can’t claim asylum once the border patrol rolls up on you and takes you into custody. That’s illegal entry. Perhaps so many are choosing to try to sneak in rather than wait at a POE to be processed because, like Ms. skinny jeans from your iconic viral photo who “wanted to experience the American dream”, they know that their claims for asylum are largely BS.
