Of course it's naive thinking. You want our arch rival to stand pat or get worse; not add a player with an elite skill for peanuts.

That elite skill, of course, is his rebounding. He can terrorize teams whenever he plays the DeAndre Jordan role. Kerr isn't going to put up with his ball-stopping and inefficient post touches. When's the last time you saw a Warriors big man post up? It doesn't fit their philosophy. If he signs there he's going to know what he's getting into. Bitter Rockets fans might find that hard to believe after his year #3 meltdown here, but I have a really hard time believing he signs in GS for any reasons other than to win a ring, improve his stock and sign one final semi-big contract after his time there.

not its not naive. they get worse adding Dwight. people want to still talk about if this and if that. no thats not how it works. he is who he is. someone who most of the league hates and his impact on winning has gone down the drain

This is the furthest thing from a convincing argument, but I'll let you have the last word.

At least neither of us are making the argument he signs here, like some are.

I would almost feel bad for OKC if they did this but with Melo coming back now, can you imagine Howard being on that OKC team with Westbrook, Anthony and George? I'll be laughing my ass off everytime DH whines about not getting the ball

Yes, but Howard's lack of discipline can hurt them too.

Dwight was a Christian boy, well raised boy coming into the league, now he has more baby mamas than one can count on 1 pair of hands.

    He Has Changed.

The Christian way was to take a wife and not have many children out of wedlock.

Not very serious but interesting how pious he was when entering the league.

I feel truly sorry for any team that has to have Dwight Howard.

When a 30 year old gambling addict jobless loser smh marries a good wife from a good family and a good job, will he suddendly leave back his past life and turn on a new leaf?
Whoever says yes is either naive or a hopeless romantic. Ppl don't change like that.
To get with the GSW's program and just rebound requires maturity and self awareness which he lacks.

I like it when he makes tough-guy look eyes, while trying to stifle a smile.

Why does people want Dwight to join us? Did they not remember 3 seasons ago? That's like getting back together what a slutty ex-girlfriend who has cheated on every single boyfriend shes had and clocked you over the head with a nine iron before she left you for another guy.

Bc they have some fantasy that he has been humbled and will now defer to Harden and be a great teammate and willingly become a pick and roll w****, never complain about touches, never post up, shoot 1000 free throws per day in practice to improve FT%, and be free of his clowning around passive aggressive drama and step up in postseason (playoff Dwight) to help this team win a championship and we all live happily ever after.

    Won't happen.

Situation could be different, he may realize that only way to win a chip is to play modern basketball - a reduced role for center. I’m still hopeful with Dwight than Melo on that regard since he seems just immature instead of selfish

His last three teams could not be happier to be rid of him. Multiple teammates from his last 5 teams despised him. What part of that exactly inspires such confidence in you?

Just to clarify, I used ‘hopeful’, I mean that we could take a chance if there is buyout and somehow we can’t keep Capela. People could change after going through different situations and we can have upfront conversation with him to make sure he is on board

I hope he don't go to GS. I get the filling he works out there and that team just got better and bigger. One 7 footer in the starting line-up in KD is enough lol. But hey at least if they sign Howard they will have a true center again that jumps for the ball instead of KD. It bugs me seeing non centers at tip off jump for the ball.

No. Because they know that Houston now has a real professional on the team in Chris Paul who will get the ball to both Harden and Howard.

You guys can talk crazy about Dwight alk you want. The Rockets would not have gotten to the 1st WCF in decades without him. If you all had noticed, once he stopped getting the ball, the Rockets stopped winning.
Howard wasn't the one disappearing in every other game. Your sweetheart Harden was.
