ppl love cap room, even though year-after-year we see how teams who suck can't attract good players with capspace.

    Once again,
    • Nets think massive cap room will save them
    • Trade away their picks.
Those two picks CHA got are better than Howard, flat out.

No, they are trying to get under the luxury tax. They were willing to dump Kemba last year at the deadline only if someone would take on a bad contract and get them under the tax.

They may also be cool with sucking, but the primary motive is and has been to get under the tax.

Who would you rather have, Miles Plumlee or Timofey Mozgov? ;)

Dwight Howard is still a good player thought definitely not a star. The Nets are doing both actually. They are trying to get better and build cap room. 2 second round picks is almost no cost.

So Nets traded a contract similar to Ryno for 2 2nd rounder. If we can do something like that, that would be amazing if that’s all we have to give up

I wouldn't mind getting him back next year, he's got a lot more than Nene

He had a home in Houston, but whined his way out. Imagine if he would have bought into the system!

No it isn't given he is an expiring contract. Most picks end up being useless. Maybe you get a Draymond green, but 90% of the time it will end up being a useless pick.

Charlotte got under the tax for this past year. That does have importance.

Clearly Kupchak doesn’t have Dwight in the future plans, and made a preemptive strike to avoid the tax.

It’s a bit telling that they took on a bad contract and extra year of salary in mozgov, who is dead weight.

Kupchak likely blowing it up and rebuilding and MJ has likely signed on.

Expect Kemba to be moved next.

That's my takeaway from this. Don't tell me Ryno can't be moved, especially if some first rounders are included.

The 2019 FA class has a lot of good players, whether unrestricted or restricted.

I expect Brooklyn to be extremely aggressive next offseason.

Only crabbe is on the books going past next year. If they can move him to a team looking to improve with expirings (Phoenix), they will have a TON of cap space.

Add to that, that they will be “competitive” but tanking for a high pick. And Brooklyn may finally be on the rebound
