The implication is do not illegally cross the United States border. You make it sound like the US is launching military excursions into neighboring countries, kidnapping children, and then imprisoning them in concentration camps. Do I need to put the data under oath? No. Because data don't lie. The data say two things are the root cause of this situation: DACA and drugs. Time to build the wall.
DACA is a retroactive policy for people already here. You can't be apart of DACA program if you currently cross the border. This is well known. DACA is a not a selling point for current people contemplating crossing the border unless they are being lied to which I doubt he have any evidence of.

Well the news is getting to some folks and some are deciding to stay and work in Mexico and some are risking it. I am actually surprised the media is reporting that families are staying instead of risking being briefly separated.
No one is talking about the unaccompanied minors. That is a long standing policy even under Obama. How does that refute the point that there are roughly 800-1000 children who are actually being separated from their parents? And you didn't even have your claim right. You stated that they were accompanied or "smuggled" in by adults that were not their gaurdians. Unaccompanied minors crossing the border has always happened. The zero tolerance policy of prosecuting every family that crosses the border is absolutely new and you are whitewashing it by saying that there is an acceptable ratio when this was never the policy before unless in severe circumstances such as the parent being suspected of violent crimes.
I'm still waiting to hear the whining and crying about American citizens who are separated from their kids while being prosecuted for breaking the law.....Why is there no "CRUELTY!!!!!!!!!!" thread about them? It's almost like this is nothing more than a desperate attempt to invent a wedge issue for the midterms...
People get "separated' when they commit a crime that is worth prison time which usually is for violent felonies or 3rd to 4th time offenders of misdemeanors. Otherwise it's some form of combination of a fine and community service. Running away from a shitty situation with your family isn't a violent offense.

The USA government public position is that they do not negotiate with hostage takers. The reason is simple. You don’t want future hostages.
