I wouldn’t be against Metu but i just don’t like, as an upper classman and older player (relatively), he seems a bit immature and reckless. Also, he projects solely as a 5 and this positionless nba we are evolving into; I like players who are multi-positional on offense and can switch defensively (respectively) through multiple positions.
He is a 5, but he has the potential to develop a decent mid range shot. I think his offensive potential is good. Higher than Vanderbilt. On defense, he would be purely a 5. Shot blocker. Immaturity, may improve with experience, hopefully. I hope Houston won't goof up and select the next Dorsey, Dekker or Nanu.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9oftzso Also put in any overseas draft and stash players and first and second rounders. We would peobably have to do the memphis trade first then use the number 4 pick to get kwahi, resign cp3 and this time next year celebrate winning the nba championship. Probably wont happen but you could wish.
So let me get this right. Memphis is giving up the 4th pick with Parsons only to get back an equally bad contract in Ryno? So they're just giving the Rockets the 4th pick out of the goodness of their heart?
Okay now tell me how those late picks and overseas scrubs is more valuable than the 4th overall pick? You didn't think this through before you posted, did you?
Yeah Rawle had a broken foot prior to the season which hampered his play. Arizona had talented offensive players which would spread the ball around. He will be use to it as he joins the Rockets and will need to spread the ball around. I said he had some Donovan Mitchell Tyreke Evans in his game, didn’t realize NBADraft.net used Tyreke as the player comparison. For a good player to fall to mid 2nd round, there has to be a reason. With Rawle it’s not because he is a poor player. He would get some burn time with Houston. https://www.si.com/nba/2018/06/15/r...outing-report-highlights-strengths-mock-draft Of all the players I’ve mentioned I don’t think there will be a Chandler Parsons 2nd rd draft that gets 1st string mins in year one. But Metu and Rawle could get some minutes. If both are at #46......I would go Rawle. I like that Rawle can attack the rim and finish with either hand, absorbs contact on drives. I like that Metu has a hook shot consistent from 10 feet with either hand. In footage you can see him turning left or right then going hook. That hook shot is ahead of Capela offensively at this stage of their careers.
Okay this isn’t pretty but fills a lot of holes and helps out other teams along the way. Not a lot of well know players but will perform like Luc did for us this season. In W. Cauly-Stein (Capela role) H. Giles (Anderson regular season role) Justin Jackson (Green role >> Green takes Gordon role) R. Hollis-Jefferson (Ariza role) Out Eric Gordon and 1st round pick to Kings SnT Capela with the Nets We get more athletic, longer and more defensive minded. Gordon & Capela will be missed but they are our only asset at the moment. Ariza thank you for your service but we are not going to over pay. This will keep us competitive for a championship and give flexibility going forward. Praying we find a new home for Anderson. When his head is right he can really help a team.
Nothing here makes any sense for the Rockets. They are trading for inferior players and giving up a 1st to teams and dumping players that they can resign for no apparent reason.
I like Vanderbuilt too as my first choice. Vanderbuilt would play 5 for Rockets because his offense is not much the further he gets from the rim. Agree with everything else you said, elite rebounder and ability to defend all 5 positions. Was a prolific playmaker in HS but not his role with Kentucky. Love his hustle and energy, smart player too. The other player I like is 4/5 Justin Jackson (6'7 230) who is the most plug and play 3-D player in the 2nd and with best upside. He is also T H I C C and plays like it. Was shooting over 40% from 3 before his injury. Only reason blue chippers like Vanderbilt or Jackson are even 2nd rounders is because both are coming off serious or multiple injury seasons. But this draft will have have a lot of great options for Rockets in 2nd round, Morey should consider buying another pick or 2.
Yea I agree he will come in and initially be a straight up backup undersized 5. I guess calling him a defensive 4 is my projection of him learning the corner 3 and getting a Mendoza line level spot up 3pt shot of 33%. If he could get that corner 3 and spot up shooting similar to Tucker and Draymond have, he has a shot to be a very valuable player. His hustle and rebound absolutely project to the next level. At worse he is an energy guy in the montrezl/faried mold. Although, I project better defense and the switchability to be important in this current nba landscape.
He needs to really improve on his jumper. That's the only thing that he really lacks. I admit I really like Justin Jackson. Wow, he plays like a lottery pick. His injuries have really hurt his career a lot, perhaps to the point of being undrafted. I would pass on him with the 46th pick, but if goes undrafted, Morey should pick him up, if he has recovered to play at the G league level. I hope Morey won't end up picking Moe Wagner, or someone similar to him. There's virtually no role for slow moving 5's anymore. Morey should learn from his mistakes. Nanu is the prime example here.
Nene, Anderson, Future 1st rounder, Gordon, Rights to Llull (maybe utilize the Gasol connection) for Parsons and #4. Houston makes this a 3 way by kicking Phoenix a 2nd rounder while obtaining Tyson Chandler. We take the b**** back in the deal. His soul has obviously been gone a long time and I guess I would hope that we could salvage his worthless, trashy, spoiled existence into some sort of meaningful production. However, I wouldn't count on it. Memphis gets back in the playoffs and a final hurrah with the vets. Houston drafts Doncic.
If we sign Ariza, Capela both will quickly turn into another Anderson / Scola / Kato type signing. We will be paying for services that we already received from them (failing to realized is the biggest part of their appeal was value of their old contract (something for nothing) not their actual play.) In this trade proposal we would be taking on like players that need a better system or situationt to reach their fullest potential at a fraction of the cost. The first round pick is sweeter for a monster of a center that is three times the player that Capela is in WCS. (Plus, low first round picks have the less value that high second round picks do because we can get the same teir player on a more team friendly contract and we can buy second round picks, too). A lot of solid role players paired with super stars win championship. Value contracts are the only way to pair the two —> otherwise there’s not cap space.
So Many trades proposed here seem to be either downgrades or at best shuffling chairs on the titanic Rocket River
