LOL and gullible people like you are what helps sell the BS even better. You guys really do think every single season that every FA wants to play there despite no FA's ever really wanting to go there. People like you are just helping Lebron force a trade to a contender.

Maybe LeBron legitimately tried to give the city a chance by coming here, and spending a few days looking around. But, for whatever reason, maybe he and his family can't see themselves here? The timing of this does seem to coincide with that, which would be really deflating (that it's coming down to the city and lifestyle as opposed to on-the-court reasons).

Translation: Memo to Morey, if I can get the max from Houston, I will consider it.

There's no chance PG ends up on the rockets, none. Either he signs with them, or signs with the Lakers. OKC isn't going to give their 2nd best player to the rockets for a bunch of trash.

If LeBron chooses to play elsewhere I would just love to know what the deal breaker was with Houston?

I'd imagine the only deal breaker would be not being able to sell Cleveland on the trade. Cleveland not taking seriously Lebron's willingness to throw away the rest of his career in LA.

But the wording here makes it seem like it's LeBron's decision.....not the Cavs'.

    This.

We need LeBron and LeBron needs the Rockets. Now, if he doesn't want to be a Rocket, the sooner we know the better it will be. Our team, while great, needs to be improved, especially the bench. The type of defense we employed against the Warriors was effective but it took a toll on the starters. Two more guys and a proven backup pg, and we are better than last years team.

That's probably true, which is why I said other star players. Maybe Tomball Butler? I'm ok with solid additions, another EGo type of player that can sometimes carry the team. If Lebron doesn't want to come I'm sure Morey will come out on top with something else no one expected, as usual. I had a feeling LeBron didn't like Houston because they won't tuck tail and let his group of friends run the place whereas the Lakers will bend over for LeBron. That, plus his real goal, to become a billionaire mogul is more important than being a team with no chance to win like the Lakers. Good team? Yeah, but not able to beat the Warriors. LeBron will waste the rest of his career being competitive but not winning it all all the while living the LA lifestyle and making his connections in the Hollywood industry to keep the money train going after his career is over.

That's only if you believe what is being said is accurate and I don't. They are doing a full court press trying to sell the notion that "there's nowhere Lebron can go to and immediately win", knowing full well that there are 2 spots in Houston and Boston where that would absolutely be the case. They downplay those obvious spots which would require a trade in order to play up LA as a legitimate option because if Cleveland doesn't believe that Lebron will actually throw his career away by going to LA then maybe they call his bluff in an attempt to get him to stay.

I mean we can't do anything really. Management wants to wait for Lebron to make his decision so we can make some moves. But he's taking so long. I suggest we move on to other free agents, but the thing is if decides to come here then, of course, it's already a problem if we already made moves. So, they just want to wait on him.

Unless Morey got something up his sleeve we don't know about. ;)

LeBron could live in Nepal, and the money train would roll on for him. As long as he maintains his ties with Nike and stays relevant in the media, he'll always mint money. Where he lives doesn't have much bearing on that. If it's true that he really doesn't want to be here, there has to be something else at play. My bet is his family doesn't like it here, and he doesn't want to be separated from them.

there are on-court downsides that Bron has to consider with regards to Houston starting with not being able to trust CP3’s health and the fact that he’s aging and will be declining

The team will be in cap hell with no way to really improve. The chance for immediate success is there, but where would the team be 2 or even 3 years from now? I think we all know this CP3 contract will be an untradeable albatross.

Whatever the reason, looks like Houston might not be it. If that's the case, I'm ok with it knowing this early on so we can proceed with other plans.

Even if he can't trust CP3's health, he'd still have Capela and Harden, there's nowhere he can go other than Boston and have that level of talent surrounding him even when not counting CP3.

    I thought about that.

"I can win championships in Houston."

"Ooooooooohhhhhhh......it's a swamp. And always underwater? No. No."

You a franchise with 2 titles in 50 years. The Lakers are a 16 championship franchise with some of the biggest names ever to play this game as part of the organization. Sit yo ass down and show some respect. Whether we get a FA or not this year (or any year for that matter), yes, we do think they want to play for the biggest franchise in basketball history. And so would you, if you were a player.

Still don't buy that there is a communication leak. Personally I do not believe LeBron is going to be in Houston given the obstacles the Rockets need to overcome to get him (namely in a opt-in and trade)

But the Rockets front office has always been tight lipped with their potential moves and I really doubt Chris Paul would do anything to leak anything his best friend plans to do. Thats personal and those within Paul's inner circle are in the inner circle for a reason, Trust. My guess is that there was a something told to someone which was then told to someone else and somewhere down the line the message got changed quite a bit like any game of telephone.

Or is just something that media members with credibility are saying hoping something will stick so they can look better themselves later on. Lets say the unthinkable happens and LeBron does come to Houston, its really easy for these same reporters to back track or gloss over what they said in the past. They control the majority of the narrative anyway.
