Steamed and Rolled Cause korean. Rolled is basically an omelette cut into pieces so not much variance there but steamed eggs is the bomb if you’re bored of cooking and eating eggs the same way every time.
went to the philippines last year for work and got introduced to balut. didn't have the stomach to try, especially when my local philipino buddies won't eat them.
You really missed an opportunity. When I went there and was presented with challenge, before partaking, I insisted on watching someone else eat it first. Ate two eggs. Delicious! Definitely not for everyone.
how did it taste? a buddy tried and said it tasted like chicken. don't believe. plus i could see half baked fur and duck feet. how could you eat that doe?
Hard to describe how it tastes but Its all soft bone still that has been steamed and softened even more. Its the weirdest looking thing but so damn good with some salt, pepper and little bit of lime. I mean what could be more sanitary than an animal that hasnt even been exposed to the contaminants of the world yet? The yolk is delicious as well but dont try to eat the egg white, its hard and rubbery as hell.
Hard to describe the taste. Definitely didn't remind me of chicken. After peeling off the shell, I remember looking at the head and beak. It took a while to work up the courage. My friend pushed me over the edge after ~5 mins by saying balut tasted better warm than cold. LOL. Was tasty enough that I surprised everyone by requesting a second egg. I ate the egg white also, even though part of it was rubbery. Only seasoning was salt.
@A_3PO @donkeypunch you brehs be cray don't know if work will bring me to the philippines again, but if it does i would like watch someone eat it again. definitely not trying. i mean... just googling this image gave me chills down my spine. srs. but i salute you for such extraordinary courage.
Eggs should be borderline undercooked. Nothing worse than hard, rubbery eggs. Nothing better than soft, velvety eggs.
I picked fried over easy/medium but honestly, would have liked an "all of the above". I make eggs at home multiple times a week, usually either scrambled, over medium, or hard boiled. But I also like making poached when I have the time. Love omelets but I haven't had one in a while. I make Huevos Rancheros here and there. Fry a tortilla, heat up black beans with cumin, chili powder, etc., fry two eggs, top with cheese, sour cream and salsa. And now I'm hungry.
Man, sometimes this best thing in life, is to get out of your own head. 100% think you would like it, if you were blindfolded and told to try it. When I make my own Chicken wings at home, I like to chop off the wing tips and fry them separately and a little longer cause I like the chewiness of the bone, cartilage and skin that is the makeup of that specific piece. Thats not the best comparison but the only kind of comparison I can think of(except for the fried part of course).
Fried: over easy or medium Everything else is good except sunny side up and deviled (rather just have a hard boiled one with some horseradish or hot sauce I'll add: migas, chilaquiles, quiche, fritattas, chorizo/potato/egg taco
