1. They shouldn't have been separated in the first place whether they are legitimate asylum seekers or not. 2. You can address changing the rules for asylum seeking. You could also give aid to the nations with lots of asylum seekers help with their infrastructure, education donations to help the populace make improvements. You could also make America crash and burn so nobody would want to come here. It seems like you and Trump are trying to do the final option. 3. It never makes sense to snatch kids from their families, lock them away, and not allow their families to see them unless somebody is an *******.
Oh, you were serious? I figured it was some kind of a joke. Well okay, we can just agree to disagree. You can go on thinking that the constitution should be ripped up simply to spite illegal immigrants who have a child here and I'll continue to think that the historic basis for citizenship is absolutely just. Honestly if you want to argue that the constitution should be shredded, the person who needs to come up with a convincing argument in favor of that action.
I disagree from a practical standpoint as I've demonstrated. So you want to spend endless trillions rebuilding the entire rest of the world? Sounds like a good way to make America crash and burn so nobody would want to come here. It absolutely does make sense to separate people into different holding facilities from a practical standpoint. You have one for men, one for women, and one for children. Whining about how burdens to the country are being temporarily inconvenienced isn't going to get you very far.
I guess we're also using quotes from the Bible to end arguments when logic fails? "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, she must be silent." "This is what the Lord Almighty says ... 'Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.' " "Do not allow a sorceress to live." I would not like to separate the illegal families who are already here. Give them a chance to work jobs no one else does, set up places for them to live with dignity. However, I see NO reason why anyone other than a US citizen can give birth to a US citizen - it only encourages illegals to have children, then play the victim card when they are discovered. And no one is able to provide a logical argument to counter that. It's 2018, we have to adjust.
I didn't advocate any of the options. Doing something that is cruel, immoral, and un-American like separating children from their families would be one option that I'm definitely against No. You listing the different classifications for separate holding facilities doesn't mean that it makes sense. What makes sense is to have family holding facilities. It hasn't been a problem to not separate children from their parents forever. It wasn't as if it didn't make sense to operate allowing children to stay with their parents before and all of a sudden they instituted this move in order to make sense. You are really twisting in unnatural ways to try and defend this policy.
Melania Trump 'hates to see' children separated from their families at borders https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/17/politics/melania-trump-children-separated-immigration/index.html
Reason is simple. Deterrence as part of the overall goal of anti-immigration of All type (illegal, legal, asylum seeker,...). Separating children as a policy is just a new method to get there. It’s crossing a new moral line that isn’t acceptable, but nevertheless is allowed to stand (so far). Some speak directly to the intent while others are cowards hiding behind it’s because of the “laws”. Some will even go as far as blaming the children and the parent who are seeking asylum . Separating family seeking asylum is a basic lack of moral, is a basic human right violation and is a basic violation of children’s rights. This isn’t complicated. P.s. I’m sure the nazi found very creative legals way to pursuit their goal. There are times when you simply know what is right and wrong and don’t accept the legal maneuver used.
Inside an old warehouse in South Texas, hundreds of children wait away from their parents in a series of cages created by metal fencing. One cage had 20 children inside. Scattered about are bottles of water, bags of chips and large foil sheets intended to serve as blankets. One teenager told an advocate who visited that she was helping care for a young child she didn't know because the child's aunt was somewhere else in the facility. She said she had to show others in her cell how to change the girl's diaper. Michelle Brane, director of migrant rights at the Women's Refugee Commission, met with a 16-year-old girl who had been taking care of a young girl for three days. The teen and others in their cage thought the girl was 2 years old. "She had to teach other kids in the cell to change her diaper," Brane said. Brane said that after an attorney started to ask questions, agents found the girl's aunt and reunited the two. It turned out that the girl was actually 4 years old. Part of the problem was that she didn't speak Spanish, but K'iche, a language indigenous to Guatemala. "She was so traumatized that she wasn't talking," Brane said. "She was just curled up in a little ball." Brane said she also saw officials at the facility scold a group of 5-year-olds for playing around in their cage, telling them to settle down. There are no toys or books. But one boy nearby wasn't playing with the rest. According to Brane, he was quiet, clutching a piece of paper that was a photocopy of his mother's ID card. "The government is literally taking kids away from their parents and leaving them in inappropriate conditions," Brane said. "If a parent left a child in a cage with no supervision with other 5-year-olds, they'd be held accountable."

So, in your opinion, the bible is as valid a legal argument as the constitution or the English common law our legal system was based on? That's an interesting opinion that I doubt many share. That implies that it is cruel, immoral, or un-American and I don't see any case being made for that. That only makes sense when the numbers are small and easily managed as they were for most of history. Unfortunately lately people have been attempting to exploit that system, especially those from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador to the point where every year the US is receiving what normally would be decades worth of asylum requests from those countries. When you flood the system with requests you create a situation where it makes more sense to separate the facilities in order to be more efficient with housing these people till the decision to deport (the vast majority of situations) or accept their claim.
If you think that removing innocent children as young as 2 and locking them in cages away from their families isn't cruel, immoral, and un-American, then I don't know what to tell you.
Then change the system. Asking for asylum isn't a crime whether only 50 people ask or 78,000,000 people ask. The U.S. should put more money into handling the requests if there are huge increases.
The United States is a sovereign country and has a right to protect its borders. The fact that past administrations chose not to fully enforce the law does not diminish that fact. Attorney General Jeff Sessions was very clear in announcing this policy change on May 7th, 2018. Anyone separated from their children since had sufficient warning. They knew the risk of being prosecuted if caught and as a result being separated from their child and still chose to willfully disregard our laws. They deserve zero sympathy. ZERO. I cannot believe anyone is seriously angered by processing foreign children in the same manner as American children of incarcerated parents. I've said it before, but I'll say it again for those slow on the uptake. If an American is incarcerated and there are no family members who can take their children in, the children are placed in foster care. Where are the protests for these American children? Should we allow them to join their parents and live in state penitentiaries? The fact that many illegal aliens do not have legal relatives in the US who can take their children in does not change the fact that the exact same rules are being applied to them. You cannot house men, women, and children together in prison. You cannot release them with a promise to appear because the vast majority will not. You bleeding hearts can prattle on as much as you want about how it's un-American. You know what will be un-American? The sh*thole this country will be in 50 years if we allow anyone absolutely anyone who wants to come here to simply invade with no repercussions. I want my grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know the America that we know now, and that can only be retained by smart, merit-based immigration policies where we actually prevent illegals from coming in. We could actually bring in greater numbers of LEGAL immigrants if we could get control of the porous border, legal immigrants who are vetted, respect the laws of this country, and have a much greater aptitude for success, and have not begun their experience with the US by giving our laws and sovereignty a big middle finger. There are thought to be approximately 13 million people living here illegally. That's larger than many nations in their own right. That is an absolute disgrace. Democrats and business-first Republicans have brought us to this point.

Because you warn someone that you will be needlessly cruel to children isn't an excuse for being needlessly cruel to children. Except that they are different crimes and they are separated before a trial. There is no visitation so the circumstances are very different. These people aren't haven't been found guilty of a crime when their children are being separated. They not only can house families together, they have done so until recently. This issue isn't about letting anyone and everyone in this nation. It's about treating children cruelly. You apparently support that. I have no problem telling you that it's un-American, cruel, and immoral.
