I feel like... in the pit of my stomach... That this is going to work out very well for SAS. Sure, they were the 7th seed and lost in the first round... but they were two wins away from the three seed. Whether its young assets from the Lakers, or the Celtics... or Kawhi is ok going to a different team and the Spurs get some other young assets plus draft picks.

Yup and he'll get full credit if it actually happens, there is a difference between wanting to go somewhere and actually getting traded there however. From a Spurs standpoint, why do you help create a superteam in LA that you'd have to get past? You'd be effectively giving the Spurs no chance for the rest of Pop's career if you make that trade. That's why I still think they trade him East to anyone that offers anything worth a damn.
