Not completely but in some cases, yes. The repeater tax will be devastating. Most of this big salaries will have yearly increases so any of the contracts you can reverse will help lower the tax payment in future years. You can cut some salary for the tax but most of it is going to be locked in and difficult so you are trimming around the edges. I am simply saying do the math to make it work in our favor with the limited maneuverability.
