The guy who blasts players for taking a knee during an anthem is saluting a North Korean general. Still hard to fathom. And the North Korean general was trying to shake Trump's hand. Trump was the one who voluntarily saluted.
True, Obama Derangement syndrome was as real as Trump Derangement Syndrome, but any time Trump does anything, it's news. A lot of Obama gaffes usually remained within hyper-partisan media, just as Bush's were. If you weren't watching stuff like Hannity or the Daily Show, you missed a lot of them. The competition is fierce in the US press to be the first to report what Trump does. No other political leader in history has had the press follow them so relentlessly, and he appears to love it even when he complains about it. The press is just as much a partner to the reality show presidency as Trump is, IMHO. Trump stories, no matter how small, get clicks/views/advertising dollars like nothing else.
I guess you fools didn't bother to watch the video of this incident, probably because it would destroy your attempts to denigrate the President. The general went to salute Trump, only to switch it up and go for a handshake instead after Trump had started his salute. Trump was merely returning a salute which is customarily done, even to foreign military members.
Saluting generals from murderous dictatorial regimes is not customary, even for ignorant doofus Presidents.
The US does a lot more than salute the generals of an overwhelming majority of the world's dictatorships, but you are going to draw the line at North Korea, eh? How incredibly courageous of you.
I'm pretty sure in this instance it's you that fails to realize the meaning and symbolism of RETURNING a salute. There was no reason to intentionally show disrespect when a foreign general was showing the president respect and acknowledging the superior status of the POTUS.
