Glad Guduan got to come back out and pitch a clean inning. Good for his confidence.

I was referring to the home run he hit. Yes, it was against a position player, but still.

I would love to see AJ Reed somehow make the team, a lefty power bat would be nice, Tyler White and JD Davis also deserve more chances. But, we are spoiled with a very stacked lineup and farm system.

Don’t think it was that. And the 2nd place guy was Delino Deshields, which would have me questioning that metric regardless.

    Has he lost weight?

Has he recovered any possible trade value?

Last year was the first time that Guduan finished a season with a BB/9 rate under 4.

He had 26 in 62 innings between Houston and Fresno, which gave him a mark of 3.77 walks per nine innings. Well.. he is who he is at this point.

Right? He's got nasty stuff but I feel bad for anyone that tries to dig in the box against him.

Tony Kemp showed off his arm, arm I didn't really know he had. He threw a laser from shallow LF to 1B on that double play. Why doesn't he do that more often, at least hit the cutoff man with something other than a rainbow?

    Yankees lose !!!

Not so much worried about SEA since we have numerous H2H games remaining.

I want NYY and BOS to lose.

Mariners will either keep winning and put a huge hurt on the Yankees and Red Sox in the next 10 games, or they start losing and Astros will be back in first provided Astros can beat up on some weak teams.

Now that Marisnick and Fisher aren't getting regular PA, and Gattis has awoken, over the last 30 days we have had the 4th best K rate, and 2nd best OBP in baseball. And that's with probably our best player in the worst slump of his career for most of it.

We haven't talked about him much, but Springer is having a strong follow up to his career season last year. He has really matured as a hitter, never thought he could get his K rate all the way down to 18%. I was thrilled when he got it down under 25%.

Most of team has basically come alive at the plate. Correa looks to be out of his funk. Altuve and Springer have joined Correa among the Top 30 position players in WAR with Bregman not far behind. Reddick and McCann are only starters struggling right now. Reddick has basically taken Fisher's place as the OF not producing at the plate. I expect he'll be fine once he gets further away from that infection.

But... If the Astros finish with the league's best record, they will most likely have the Yankees or Red Sox in the first round as one of those should be a wild card team.
