Man "this team" is the team HE CHOSE lol. No more excuses. Also, getting to the finals in the East isn't the great accomplishment you think it is. You beat Toronto who's always had postseason problems, you beat Boston missing it's 2 best players & also a inexperienced Indiana team. None of these teams had superstar caliber players lol. Don't EVER company Lebron to MJ again

Lebron traveled through time and saw all the possible outcomes and decided “This is the only way”

Never called him the goat. Youre just not being realistic. Putting all the pressure on one guy to excel at everything, while his teammates dont show up. No one can play every aspect of the game at 100%.

Lmao! LeBron wasn't even favored to even win the east! And he still made it to the finals. This wasn't the team he chose. The team had a when new image after the trade deadline. You forgot that? GS and Hou had a cake walk til the WCF, what does that tell you about the west. There was no team beating GS or HOU. The east had TOR and BOS beating CLE. And LeBron still made it out with a trash team. Even I didn't think CLE woulve made it out of the 2nd round, but LeBron balled out

What pressure is that? Guarding Kevin Durant for the final possessions of the game? Being aggressive down the stretch when Steph Curry gets switched on him? Scoring a point in overtime? Isn't that what you're superstar gets paid to do? Looks like you're lowering the standards for what a great player is supposed to do

Not lowering standards. But when when your playing 38-40+ min a game for the entire post season at 33 yrs, wouldn't you think that takes a toll on your body physically and mentally, regardless of how much your being paid. Again, even if lebron took that matchup with KD, KD would've still scored

Which other player in the running for “GOAT” faced and defeated a team as good as the a Warriors en route to the championship?

LeBron improved his case, didn’t diminish it, after these playoffs. That’s pretty clear.

The greatest of his era, and now a credible case can be made of all time.

Exactly, people expect LeBron to beat this juggernaut team? Let's all be realistic

Why did they have a new image? Have we forgot? Because the first batch of players Lebron WANTED, Wade, IT, Rose, Crowder & Shumpert couldn't coexist with Lebron (similar to Kyrie). He wanted to get younger and more athletic and management obeyed. Now that they got younger it's still poor Lebron? Lol. You realize you guys say this EVERY year he loses. Never mind Cleveland's had among the highest payrolls since Lebron became GM.

If the Rockets team with Dwight & JLin were playing in the east now, we'd be the favorite over there every year too. Nothing special about winning in the east

Jordan his last year with Chicago played 41 minutes a game in the postseason. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR LEBRON

Guys please stop bringing up these hypothetical claims backed by no fact and can't be either proved or disproved. I can say old school Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Pistons would destroy the Warriors all day and you can say Warriors would destroy them all day it adds nothing to the discussion, unless you try to add some facts/reference to your point then we can have a meaningful discussion.

Here I am giving it a shot.

The Warriors only swept 1 team this post season.
Every single western team the Warriors played had 1 of their top players injured.
Every single western team the Warriors played managed to win at least 1 game.
Every single western team the Warriors played had only 1 allstar.
    Rockets almost beat the Warriors.
The Cavs had 2 allstars including who you call the greatest to ever play the game of basketball.
The biggest star player Lebron had to go through in the east was Oladipo. (In fact majority of all-time-great pllayers in the past 10 to 15 years have spent their prime if not their whole career in the West)

This Warriors team is not as good as you think they are and Lebron is just not as good as you think he is.

Although I agree with 95% of your post. It's not fair to compare different eras with the rule changes & lack of physicality. The NBA now is a jumpshooting, 3pt & analytic driven game. It's a watered down version of itself. You can argue Golden State wouldn't even EXIST back then. But it's fair to assume MJ would've atleast made the series competitive by winning 1 or 2 games by WILLING his team against GS. Key word, WILL. No way Curry gets stuck with single coverage guarding Jordan, and Jordan PASSES the ball lol. The game has changed & so have the fans. Their definition of greatness is not the same as ours was. Everything has been watered down to Lebron's benefit

I was responding to a person who said LeBron can’t even be considered top 5 all time because of this loss.

If that is the argument, it is reasonsble to ask which past GOAT level player faced a team as good as the Warriors with a supporting cast as weak as LeBron’s and fared better.

Why not bet all his money on the Championship winners while he is at it?

Was he doing everything? Carrying the same load as LeBron?

Yeah because you know that lebron wanted the IT/Kyrie trade happening. Nothing special about winning in the west the past 3 years, besides this year. GS has been storming through teams with or without KD.

He did more, against better competition, in a era where they'd literally closeline you before giving up a layup. I'm not sure how you ask who carried more of a load without acknowledging how weak the competition Lebron's seen in the current eastern conference. Were you alive when Jordan played?

Jordan had weaker competition than today, that's a fact because technology, training and globalization of the NBA makes the competition today tougher than it was 20 years ago. Not only that Jordan's Bulls are also the most talented team in the NBA during his team, certainly no other team had 3 stars like Jordan, Rodman and Pippen most had just 1 like the Rockets or Knicks. Jordan's Bulls reached the ECF when he quit to play baseball while if Lebron didn't play the Cavs would be in the lottery this year. Not sure how you can say Jordan carried a bigger load wtf.

Secondly your comment about clotheslines don't really apply to Lebron because he is bigger and stronger than Jordan, if Jordan can take those clotheslines at 6'6 then obviously Lebron can take it better at 6'8 with 20 more pounds than Jordan.
