Ijs..if he wants to leave, what you going to do? Cry? It's his choice, he's a free agent.. He left 10 million to opt in and come here.. he'll leave millions more leaving again! I want him to sign back but im not going to cry about it!
For a board that complains about health and what not. I have no idea why I've seen all Tyreke Evans posts when he's one of the last players you should be looking at
Not only that, but as far as I know he's nothing spectacular on defense. I would rather have PJ Tucker all day. Durable, incredible defense, and hits the shots you NEED him to hit. The entire reason the Rockets were even in the GS series was because of defense.
if CP3 leaves, then our championship aspirations leave with him You’re talking about it being all good if he leaves, we’ll just sign Tyreke Evans and keep it moving? That would make next season completely meaningless and pointless. U want to go back to Harden plus role players?
Chris Paul isn’t leaving. He’s selling his house in la, he’s been making plans with James Harden since the season ended and nobody associated with the rockets acts like he’s even a free agent.
He is old and on the way down, he might not be playing at all in the playoffs next year. Paul George is a better option because he is younger and would extend the window by 7+ years. 7 years from now George will be the same age as Cp3 today so whatever the window is now add 7 years to that.
Paul George and no Cp3 will not move the needle against the Warriors. Cp is a better player now and will be for a couple more years.
Losing CP3 and adding Paul George isn't an option so there's no point in engaging in the fantasy scenarios. Paul George wants to go LA. If he isn't going to do that it won't be because he wants to take less money to play with Harden without Paul. The only way he will forgo the most money in OKC and his budding friendship with Westbrook AND skip the Laker dream is if he is coming here to play with Harden and Paul and win a championship.
Sauces Broussard: I think the Lakers sign LeBron & Chris Paul as free agents & trade for Paul George.
That's exactly what we want the Cavs to think might happen so that they'll agree to do the opt in and trade to Houston.
Honestly no matter what happens this off season, the Rockets will be fine as long as their GM is the fat nerd from Ohio. I would be very surprised if Chris Paul left the Rockets, if he did so I believe that it would be because the Rockets new ownership makes the decision to not max him out. I wouldn't rule out LeBron to San Antonio if Leonard is healthy and ready to go. Pop has some flexibility to make moves, and a trio of James, Leonard and Aldridge could be pretty substantial. Also don't rule out the fact that Pop and James are involved in a lot of the same political causes and Pop has shown the ability to extend careers. The Lakers will be the pick of the James clan, as his wife likes it there and supposedly his kids as well. Still, James said he wants to play with veteran, smart players that can shoot.... that isn't the Lakers and that isn't Paul George either. So who knows. Can the Lakers pry away Leonard and attract James that way? The Rockets on paper are the best bet for LeBron. They have two elite players and with James added, they would be the most talented team in the NBA and possibly ever. James/Harden/Paul are three of the top 10 players in the NBA when healthy and arguably James and Harden are the two best basketball players in the world. Still, it is Houston and not a city like LA or Miami or NYC. I have heard people say James won't want to come to someone else's team....... well he has done it before, he went to Wade's team and it wasn't an issue. LeBron wants to beat the Warriors, and no one has studied how to beat the Warriors more than the Rockets and they should make a strong impression on him. Also, the team to worry about losing Capela to isn't the Suns..... it is the Bulls. They are going to spend money at want a 5. Better hope that the Bulls draft one high in the draft.
