I think yer right... I'm guessing the Lawson had a player option or something they were able to convert to a team option? Fully guaranteed contracts are one of the biggest problems with the NBA... a guy can sign a fat contract and then tune out and still get all the benefits (Larry Sanders, Royce, etc)... unlike the NFL where u dont produce - yer looking for a job... Unfortunately the NFL is trending toward a higher % of guarantees - so that'll be going to **** in the future... lol
Ryno doesn’t deserve an ounce of respect...get this scrub off the team Making so much money and being that useless to the team is just shameful.
There's pros and cons to both sides of course. You don't want players getting screwed over by teams, but in this case we have the opposite.
More often, what's good for the team is good for the fan base. What's good for the player is usually only good for the player.
Oh lord no... The NFL is run like a machine - the NBA is at the whims of its present day dictator (Stern then Silver)... The NBA could be so much better than it is. The NBA is like a step away from wrestling with its 'star calls' that have been going on forever and its questionable refereeing in general... You might see a couple questionable NFL calls each weekend... but the NBA you're watching whole games with an obvious agenda.... When legitimacy is called into question - thats a big deal... jus sayin...
The NFL is run like a machine all right . . . like a military robot. F the NFL. Haven't watched since 1990.
Are you Ryan Anderson or just a troll? The guy is getting paid $20 million to be a bench warmer who wrecked game 7 of the WCF with rockets getting out scored 14-2 while he was in the game! If this guy wants respect he should immediately retire as he is singlehandedly hurting the team more than anyone else with his ridiculous contract!
It's been obvious for eons that RA would have to go, at least for salary matching reasons. (never mind his issues)Don't buy that we can't find a taker. DM needs the RIGHT deal...at the right time. And it will happen. All this stuff about likely needing a third team...not some revelation.
He earned our disrespect. He either straight up quit or became so mentally weak that he was scared to shoot the ball. He's a freaking professional basketball player. I don't believe he was scared to shoot. I think he got pissed off about losing his starting role and quit on the team. But if it's just as simple as he's mentally weak then so be it. Either scenario deserves disrespect.
I don’t get this whole thing where posters seem to think they’re basketball therapists all of a sudden. I didn’t see Ryno’s game suffer mentally; I just saw his minutes vanish. Pretty simple. He didn’t play much for the latter part of the season and playoffs. If he ever did get heavier minutes sometimes he had a good game and more times he didn’t but that’s common for anyone who doesn’t play much. And his mental makeup had nothing to do with losing his minutes. D’antoni went with PJ and everyone seems to agree with that move. I’m not defending Ryno. He’s a horrible contract and its almost single handidly the reason we probably won’t be able to add to our team next year. But let’s not over analyze just to go on the attack. We paid him because he spread the floor but then we figured out that that wasn’t enough to contend and we had to emphasize more on someone who can defend at that position.
