Remember the time when all the talk was about spies placed in trump's campaign? Yea, those were good times...

Well, that is not really accurate. As a career civil servant it actually does work the way you want it to work. Most civil servants are careerists, it is the political appointees that come and go. That's not to say there are not occasional purges ala the Mistake-in-Chief appointing imbeciles to make life so difficult that it makes people flee. Usually we weather the storm and wait for the next administration.

Even with the draconian changes Dipshit wants to make it takes years to go through the rulemaking and changes to procedures.

It isn't the way its supposed to work compared to the rest of the developed world. I realize there are plenty of career civil servants but my point is that we appoint WAY too many people to various management positions. The sheer number of political appointees is too high. The level of turnover in government agencies is several times higher than equivalent agencies in developed countries because there are simply too many appointed positions.

And the process of continually appointing people means that the actual work of agencies is quite slow given the need for new appointees to integrate into the agency they've joined. And its also largely a patronage tool that doesn't get discussed enough.

Okay. I see what you mean. What does happen is a new administration may move in and change course causing a tidal shift in the direction or actions an agency may take. This happens. Luckily, or not, bureaucracies usually move incrementally and hopefully have structures and policies that allow it to ride out the waves. Some better than others. After all, we have to do what our boss wants...usually.

I do agree that someone as inept and intentionally destructive to the fabric of government as the Dotard will cause disruptions and problems that will take years to correct.

Most Americans disdain Congress. Why would FBI agents, who are Americans, be different? And why would that matter? They are not legislative agents.

Exactly. It's not uncommon for career civil servants to serve under administrations that they despise at some point during their careers. Civil service professionals do their job regardless of how they feel about politics. It's doubly tough when you serve in an agency that is reviled by the current administration.

There's a real misunderstanding by folks about government employees. Most are "true believers" in what we do and take pride in doing it well. Many chose to forgo more money in private industry to serve our country.

One thing trump has done well is introducing cancerous agents throughout government.

If that intelligence is rigged, and you can go into a courtroom and testify it was rigged, the indictments will probably fall apart on their own. So why would you need pardons? Just let the system do its thing.
