    There's a MASSIVE difference between opting out and taking the taxpayer MLE. Like roughly $22M that Melo would have to agree to leave on the table. (approx $28M vs approx $6M)

    Possibly he does it to try to re-jumpstart his elite reputation so he can get a bigger contract next summer somewhere else, but I'm still not seeing this as realistic.

    I would say the same and I still lean that way, but his comments make it sound like he isn’t locked in. He repeatedly says money isn’t a factor and you have to assume when he wanted a buyout from ny last year they were talking about this kind of savings

    If LeBron becomes a Rocket, the Worriers' reign will come to an end. In fact, it almost did this year. They got real lucky with CP3's untimely injury.

    Fans become fans of different teams for different reasons. I never understood the obsession of weeding out "legitimate" fans. You're not better than another for liking a thing you both like a bit earlier. Just buy each other a beer and cheer for the same team!
