Why beat them if you can join them?

Gotta get the job done. If DM can't improve the team, it will sound like empty words despite the effort.

Less talk and more work, with a lot of luck is needed.

I have no issues with him talking about it. Sometimes you have to speak things into existence.

Well, it does increase the pressure on him to remain active. He was saying the same stuff, when a number of players went down in the middle of the regular season. GM Harden stepped up, and acquired Gerald Green at the time. He wasn't on DM's radar.

    Gonna get Lebron or PG13.

I am willing to give up CC if it means we get Lebron. However not if it comes to PG13.

Why? Because we don't really need CC if we are facing GSW.

    I;m good with Morey . . . .
Seriously . . . what teams have a better roster than the Rockets?
What teams have consistently been better than the Rockets . . . .
At this moment the only teams with potentially better rosters are: Golden State and Boston

Honestly . . .. it is the main reason I think LeBron should come here
He won't get by Boston or Golden state anywhere else

What I love about Morey is that the Rockets have been basically good his entire tenure and it's been almost entirely because of his work on the chess board. He never gets tied into a roster, is constantly looking for upgrades, etc. We've never had great draft assets under Morey (never been bad enough) and yet he continually spins the straw into gold.

Morey deserves a lot of credit for signing Harden and last year bringing CP3 to Houston. This season was by far the best team he’s put on the floor. However, he needs to quit obsessing over star players like LeBron and Paul George, and focus on improving the bench. He’s jacked around with so many different lineups to accomplish nothing since signing Harden. Now Harden is 29. He’s no longer the young gun when he signed. CP3 is 33. Ariza turns 33 at the end of June and is clearly on the decline. Moute was a good veteran minimum FA but he’s injury prone and will be 32 going into next season. Morey needs to resign CP3 and Capela, forget about PG and James, and sign some young 3-point shooters that are young and athletic enough to play along side Harden and CP3 in this system. Guys that can get above the rim for ally oops and defend against players like Draymond Green.

I really feel there are players to be had that fit this system perfectly that could get this team to the next level. My preference would be any of the following starting with Jeremi Grant and Aaron Gordon (probably too expensive). Others would include Noah Vonleh, Ellington (probably too expensive, VanVleet, Seth Curry, Will Barton, Nick Young, Tolliver, and Tyreke Evans. I would even be interested in D Rose if he signed for the minimum. He was great in the playoffs and would be a great bench player in case CP3 got injured.

I think signing harden was a move to sell the team. Having a super star locked up is always better than unknown when selling.

I could be wrong, but I think he's referring to the Rockets taking so much flak for being the only team that HAS overtly come out and said that they're trying to beat the Warriors.

We were laughed to scorn last offseason, Draymond Green was taking shots at us during press conferences, ESPN was having a laugh for months, etc. Granted this was before the season when ESPN was telling us that Paul & Harden would be lucky to mesh into a 4th seed team.

I'm not aware of other teams saying they're not trying to beat the Warriors --- uhhh, except The Mavericks LOLZ --- but it's just that fact that the NBA world expressed such SHOCK when we said we were. People acted like the Warriors were Gods and we were just lucky to share the court with them. This past season really rewrote many perspectives.
