Corbin Martin now has a game with 0 strikeouts and his most recent start last night of 1 k over 5 innings
Akeem Bostick is listed as tonight's starter, so he must be healthy. Corpus' rotation is getting reinforcements.
Where does Josh James rank in our top 30 now that he's been up to 98mph and he's taken a step forward with his command and is dominating the upper minors?
#30. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2018?list=hou Sometimes a low draftee has a super tough time shaking their initial draft report. If James keeps getting better, he will likely make it to The MLB before he cracks the top 20 prospect list.
I personally am pretty low on him comparatively speaking, but there's a strong argument for him as a 50 grade prospect ranked in the 8-15 range in the system.
After today's draft, I'd show 53 guys that should be ready for Low A: C (4): Campos, Salazar, Holderbach, Lin*, Paulino* IF (10): Wielansky, Pena, J Perez, T Dawson, Hensley, K Davis, J Pineda, O Sanchez-Galan, E Valdez, Matute OF (12) : Beer, Schreiber, Dennis, McKenna, Taylor, Costes, A Pineda, Machado, Celestino, J Ramirez, Mattix, H Martinez RHP (26): Deason, Freure, Conine, Moclair, Hansen, Dubin, France, Daniels, Conn, Roach, Bermudez, Figueroa, J Gonzalez, Henderson, Cabral, Billingsly, Gross, H Martin, House, Hardman, Serrano, H Paulino, B Abreu, Tejeda, Donato, Bojorquez, L Chavez LHP (1): Hardy *may not sign Same goes for the GCL: C (5): Benavente, Perry, N Rodriguez, G Castillo, Carrillo IF (8): Nova, Y Ramirez, Carrasco, Cueta, J Castillo, R Sanchez, S Mendoza, Urdaneta OF (5): A Santana, W Abreu, R Rodriguez, Cortez, Diaz P (14): Schroeder, Macuare, E Rodriguez, Bravo, Medina, Lopez, J Chavez, M Ramirez, Rivera, De Paula, F Garcia, Guerrero, Niv Rodriguez, Navas That assumes none of hte late round HS draftees sign. A few of those might be injured, a few will be aggressively placed in QC, but there's going to be a good size group of releases next week.
I meant in our perspectives, should have clarified, my bad. A guy who can throw strikes, hit 98mph with an above average slider, and with results seems like he should be higher than all these Latin players who throw hard but are walking everyone (Framber, Alcala, Perez)

Cristian Javier @ Wisconsin: 6 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 6 K This is the first time this season that Javier has appeared in a game and failed to record more strikeouts than innings pitched. He now has 80 in 49.1 innings this season.
Cy Sneed tossed 6 shutout innings last night, with 8 k and 0 bb. Excepting his the appearance in which allowed 10 ER awhile back, he’s been extremely effective. Such a solid group of 2nd/3rd tier SP prospects in AAA (Thornton, Armenteros, Sneed, Dykxhoorn, James, later Deetz, even ignoring Martes and Paulino), all of which are having success, bound to be some trade fodder and bullpen upgrades in there.
From AstrosCounty ... Astros top pitching prospect to make first start with Corpus Christi Hooks on Friday
Josh James made Fringe Five once again. It would not surprise me if he's moved into the top position among RHPs in the minors for a injury-replacement callup despite not being on the 40-man.
