LOL don't get it twisted, I'm not saying that anyone should be forced to attend, I'm saying that if you decline an invitation to the white house for political reasons you are a douchebag political extremist.

I'm all for people having the right to be douchebag political extremists....but I feel like those kinds of people should be called out for it.

Yes, when I say he is good at it, I don't mean it as a compliment. I suppose I should say that he is really effective at it.

Normally you can ignore a troll and the troll eventually goes away. But when the troll is the POTUS if you ignore it, then you feel like you are condoning it. If you try to combat it, you sink down in the mud with the troll. It's a no win scenario.

And I’m saying only an extremist authoritarian like yourself who thinks citizens should worship the White House or the Presidency would have such a ludicrous belief.

And, for the record, I don’t care who is extending the invitation, Obama or Trump or whoever. Whether an individual wants to accept it is a personal decision and shaming the individual for following their conscience is flat out dumb.

Unfortunately the media doesn't hold this opinion as the hate Tim Thomas saw from his refusal in 2012 was very high. Critical articles from the Boston Globe, fansided, SI, BR even calling for him to give back salary.

I think about 2% of it is possibly attitudes changing as at that time an athlete refusing to go was very rare but most of it was the media liked Obama and felt offended and dislike Trump thus are giddy when athletes refuse to go.

I don't think you understand what "authoritarian" means based on your comments LOL.

I get that these days there are people who think that people shouldn't be "shamed" for being political extremist douchebags, but I personally think they should....you SHOULD be ashamed of yourself for being that way. I also understand that someone who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome isn't the best person to discuss this with since you are incapable of being rational due to your condition. If we were having this conversation 4 years ago, you'd have been able to understand what I was saying...and you'd likely have agreed back then. As such, I'll just chalk it up to your condition being the problem and hope that one day you recover.

Yes you are correct, and I'm in agreement. I was just making a comment that these people in this day & age are pretty easy to provoke. I just wish the other 70% was better at countering the faux outrage propaganda.

Perhaps it is just because I am not very knowledgeable about Hockey but I had to google to find out who Joe Thomas is and what he did. Seemed he didn't attend for reasons he believed in. And Obama even made a point of complimenting his play.

Hard to compare that with the current situation... which has been going on for a year, where trump has attacked those who also had strong beliefs, and that trump has exasperated with his current statements. and actions.

And Obama still had the visit, he didn't throw a hissy fit because people chose not to attend.

Trump the childish buffoon could have still had the visit, except he canceled.

The difference between Obama/Trump is that Obama is a good guy, Trump is a horrible human being

Your Crtl-C Crtl-C have failed you. It's very easy to compare. NBA players have been refusing to go because of political/ideological difference and are praised, this guy was demonized. Partly because not going to the white house out of political protest was somewhat normalized by trailblazers like him, mostly because of blatant media bias and temper tantrum.

Trump is a bigot/racist. I would have NO interest in meeting a man like that. The Eagles players agreed. No Syndrome. It has been stated and posted over and over WHY Trump is a racist/bigot. Just because you choose to ignore it is not our problem.

Still don't see a similarity. Did Obama make a statement saying Tim Thomas should be fired? Did Obama demand a change in the NHL to force players to do something? And did he continue to rant about this for many months? And NBA players? The Eagles play football.

Trump made no statements about Curry that I am aware of. He made no statements I am aware of the NBA should change their policy. Kerr is the attacker in this instance and they preemptively spoke out. The similarity is obvious. Media praised one and attacked the other.

LOL, let's face it kid, I don't take you seriously because you haven't shown to be a serious person worthy of that kind of attention or respect. I don't doubt that you think nearly everyone is a bigot/racist and while I think that's adorable, it's just not something that matters.

Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!

how many quotes about Trump do you want from Kerr about Trump before september 2017? It was pretty obvious this was another situation of Trump quitting before he was fired. If you disagree on that let me know. Otherwise I think you have to accept the situation is exactly the same with vastly different media treatment.

I disagree with white house visits anyways and applaud it's demise.

No, Obama was too busy working to divide the country by getting involved in race baiting incidents like Trayvon Martin and Micheal Brown or with setting terrorists and traitors free. To some that's preferable to suggesting that NFL players shouldn't show disrespect to the country to others it's not. I guess it just depends on your own personal values.
