Because I just found your first statement made Bernie look free trade which after you didn't address that question I looked it up and CR is right in that he is hardcore protectionist.

Everything I have seen is he is pro tariff in many many cases. He specifically called for a tariff on steel. Tariffs are generally a left position.

I never claimed to be an unabashed Bernie supporter. If he ever made a claim in the past of supporting tarrifs I would disagree with him. From what I just read it seems like the only country he would desire to impose tarrifs on are China
    ...

Not our closest allies such as Canada and the EU.

He wants to do away with NAFTA (that increases tariffs). He voted against our free trade deal with Australia. There is a huge list of him saying these things. Our closest allies is the UK which will soon have much lower trade barriers with us by their own actions.

I never said you were a Bernie supporter. I was just totally confused by your statement about BernDog.

Canada (BTW) should tell us to **** off and lower tariffs themselves. For large countries it is a bit more complicated because our tariffs change the world market prices.

What do people think Bernie Sanders meant by “tear up NAFTA” and rewrite almost all other US trade deals?

I think he meant with our partners and allies to construct better deals. I don't think he meant to start a trade war with our allies by using unconstitutional actions.

Is that what you thought he meant?

That was before 2016. And, honestly, the Democrats have been pretty pro-free-trade for quite a long while now, decades.

These trade deals are tariffs. How can so many people have not known this?

Democrats are one tiny section of the left when talking about global trade.

Bern is anti-free trade and a powerful force in your party.

Not really. Either way, the trade deals weren't done unilaterally on a move by just one branch acting out unconstitutionally.

The guy that only became a democrat in 2016 is a powerful force in the Democratic Party?

I would never vote for Bernie since I abhor dumbshit populism.

Such a powerful force that the ultra progressive branch of democrats in DSA can't even get a nominee into an election.

Which was shortsighted. Did you know some Congressional GOP memebers supported the TPP....

It’s like you are too stupid to comprehend that each party isn’t a monlith in your attempts to play gotcha.

Did you know some Republicans don’t like Trump?
