Astros are the best team in baseball. I wont address any other part of your stupid post. You’re an idiot.

Nope they are the 5th best team in baseball right now. Keep it up with the name calling, pal, and we'll see how much longer you will be around here.

I believe that's part of what makes great teams great.

Very rarely, only in some of the all-time greatest team circumstances, do you see one team just dominate every good team they play. Also, most good teams are going to showcase a lot of come-back type wins throughout the course of the season... perhaps more than average teams.

Great bullpens are almost always great... but when they do fail, I bet stats play out that its against better teams vs lesser teams.

I agree with you...... but I think the Astros can help mitigate that by adding a high end reliever and we will likely see that if the price isn't insane. Then again, the price may prove too high. The Red Sox are also planning on adding a closer to become their set up man.

You’re a “contributing” member here and still no one likes you. Let that sink in.

    Certainly.

Adding/attempting to fix deficiencies is also a mark of a good/great team.

In the end, when great teams only play great teams, I'd be surprised if any team truly fares significantly better than the other.

Facts are facts if that is the sole justification that Red Sox are the best team. That said, best record in early June does not equal best team. I'm highly confident that Astros will either be best team at the end of the season or be close enough that they have as good as odds as anyone to win the World Series.

Astros need to stop living in the past and FOCUS on the now. There are many talented teams out there. Stros have to prove themselves all over again.

Red Sox are best in the league at cheating and getting caught and embarrassing the whole league in the process. Congrats.

What more do they need to do to "prove themselves", other than simply going out and trying to win every game possible?

They're going to be in first, or around first, for the rest of the season. At the very least, they should be near the top of the WC standings, but again... nobody expects any of the other AL west teams to last the whole season.

If you feel they're no longer trying to win games, or are completely complacent, that's one thing... but "prove yourself" implies that the Astros were a fluke team last year that can't necessarily back it up... and that would be a far cry from the truth even with including all the pseudo-dissapointments thus far this season.

I didn't think you could have a 100 win disappointment, but I guess such is the burden of outlandish expectations.

If we don't win the WS this year, it is aggravating that some will view that as a massive failure.

I didn't mean it like you took it. They absolutely "proved themselves" last year. They were the best. But, everything starts over this year. If they want to be a dynasty, they are going to have to show more fire against the leagues best. I think they have the talent to be a dynasty, but they haven't looked like it lately.

What was your prediction for Win Total heading into the season ?

I think most posters would consider "not winning the WS" a FAILURE on some level... but since you *tactfully* added 'massive'.. I agree.

Well, if you look at their record last year vs the "leagues best"... you may be in for a bit of a surprise.

My point is that whatever they do or don't do vs the league's best, now or later in the season... their run differential, and quality players/pieces on the roster suggest they're going to be in position to defend their title in the post-season.

Huh, I never knew Manny was a stereotypical Masshole. He seemed so normal all these other years.

I guess, since there's nothing else to say...go **** off Manny.

With you, its hard to tell often times when your being serious....

But Manny was just fine until a few posters here decided to try to run him off just because he is a Red Sox fan. As so often happens, when they got into his ****, he got back into theirs.
