LOL, you're really gracious there, aren't you champ? Yes, you are the world series champs and glad that it finally happened after 56 years of nothing. Good job. Most people who know me here will tell you that I have lived in TN my whole life so your analogy of baked beans is laughable. I have no desire to live in NE or go there other than seeing a Red Sox game. But nice assumption there on your part. And I really stayed out of this thread when the games were going on because I had other things to do. I guess you are one of those beyond irrational fans who think that your team should win over 130 games this season. It is not going to happen, pal. I cheer for the Stros when the Sox are not in it, but aholes like you make me want to root for the Yankees. Yuck.
Not poking fun, just stating facts - Red Sox are 8-4 all-time in the world series - having won their last 3 in a row. They have won 3 in the last 14 years - doesn't sound so futile. Your post might have meant something 15 years ago but it has been overcome by events.
Yea and I probably should use it for that guy. I like talking with gracious and reasonable Astros fans like you and Eric and others. As mentioned before, if the Sox can't win it, I would be pulling for the Stros. I won't let one bad apple spoil it for everybody else.
No i guess Im just referring to what was famously called the “curse of the bambino”. You see, the red sox decided to trade the best player in baseball for a rotten lobster sandwich and some overrated clam chowder. The curse lasted like 85 years or something. It’s a fascinating read. Check it out.
Honestly, I have no particular love for Boston. But, I dont hate you guys like I do the Yankees. I hope you beat those guys into submission.
Yeah you prolly need to look into a new sense of humor. Also, don’t come to the Astros board talking smack and expect “gracious” feedback. Even though i was really just messin with you.
I couldn't be less concerned about the division and the potential contention of this year's team. Such a long season, there are always going to be lulls.
How was stating facts talking "smack"? Red Sox won 2 out of 4 - fact. Red Sox have the best record - fact. And if you think that was smack, oh boy oh boy, you don't know me well. I gave the Astros compliments and did that multiple times; don't be getting angry and then acting like you were just fooling. You sound like my ex-wife as that was her MO....Molly is that you?
Championship teams like to turn off the gas until the end of the season comes around. They are going to win the division and then you are going to see their pedigree shine when it matters. Houston in a 7 game with Cole, playoff Morton, and Verlander is going to be absolute nails. Good luck opposing team.
Whatever, tool. You said “best team in baseball”. That’s the Astros. You know it is too. Records in early June really aren’t the measuring stick used to earn that title you give your team. The Astros are the world champs. You gotta suck on that until someone changes it.
Just don’t come on here and try to soft slap us with your bs. And any astro fan that defends you after doing so can suck it too.
Oh yes - it is all about how many likes you have here...forgot about that. That system has only been in place for about 5 or 6 years and I have only been here for 17 with a 2 year sabbatical recently. But I'm so sorry fiers that my ratio of likes to total posts does not match yours! I am working on trying to do better by posting more in the GARM. Maybe I will have Clutch sell all of my posts before 2012 on ebay and that way my likes will be more comparable to my total posts. I will let you have first dibs on the first 20,000 posts.
What was BS about the series being split? What was BS about stating that Red Sox have best record (reality due to percentages due to different number of games being played so the reality is that they have most wins right now). Look, I think it is obvious that both teams will be in the playoffs along with the Yankees (don't know about the other 2 but they don't matter). It should be great baseball for both Stro fans and Sox fans when it comes to October and may the best team win. If the Stros beat the Sox, I will be the first one to come here and congratulate them. And if they lose to Boston or anyone else, especially the Yankees, I will be sympathetic. But despite feeling some sympathy for the majority of the Astro fans that I know and get along with, I won't help but feel some joy in my heart that a "fan" like you is going to be upset.
