Unless there's an upside, like staying out of jail, e.g, for not-yet-sentenced criminals like Arpaio, a pardon from Trump at this point for those that have served their time is just a shiny badge of moral corruption, it means that the single most ethically bankrupt person in the world has decided "your'e a good guy!" via some act of fealty that you have paid to him. It's not like kneeling for the national anthem, which actually takes courage, it's kneeling before the leader, which takes the opposite of courage. If Trump really wants to stick it to his enemies, he should pardon more Democrats.
Trump is everything the Republicans accused Obama of being for years. Divisive? Check. Narcissistic? Check. Compulsive liar? Check. Childish? Check. Abuser of power? Check. Republicans straight up do not care what one of their own does but as soon as we have a Democratic president again suddenly they'll have standards and words and actions will matter again. It would be funny if it wasn't such a blatant and pathetic double standard that has no end in sight.

Trump's on a completely different level from any other president in our lifetime, whether it's his conflicts of interest, constantly attacking political opponents, an addiction to controversy, or just generally being completely full of s***. You can claim that "both sides do it" all day long but where's the left wing version of Trump? The both sides are the same argument is as intellectually lazy as it gets.
Whataboutism aside... curious which "one of Democrat's own" has done anything like what this current president has done (and continues to do)? Even a short list would be appreciated. Odd though... trump supposedly went to Washington to do things differently, and your best defense is "Democrats did the same thing"?
Not really true, the whole Al Franken thing exhibited this pretty well. Even so, there were plenty of Democrats that did not like Obama and took him to task. Either way, do you have any examples?
Meh, he's not a traitor or a terrorist like some of the people the last guy pardoned. Not much of a story really.
So we're weighing "guy who says provocative and knowingly false things" with "Literal terrorist and traitor" You need better spin DNC propaganda bot because the last president's pardons are all too recent and you said nothing about them. You can't act outraged by this pardon while ignoring pardons of literal terrorists.
