Literally any action can be determined to be harmful by others, I'm not sure how that can be your basis for determining the morality of an action especially with how laughably ridiculous SJW types are these days. Just because someone decides to get offended doesn't mean that you've done something legitimately offensive nor that you've done anything morally wrong.
We are not talking about any action. We are talking about a specific action — comparing black people to monkeys despite the historical context of such comparisons. This isn’t about generically insulting someone who happens to be black. It is a specific type of insult, and if that’s the insult one wants to go with then the “intent” better be crystal clear. Otherwise, come up with a different insult. It shouldn’t be that hard.
I was talking about actions in general, but even in that specific example, no matter what some short sighted people have said, it's not an inherently racist thing. My points were more about how ANYONE can claim to be offended about anything so you can't base if something was wrong to say off of how it was received. Moreover, if you really want to move on and create a better society, you have to stop having different rules for different people.
A better society should entail people recognizing that racism hasn’t gone away, and being civil enough to not throw around insults that can be easily interpreted as racially motivated by the target.
And racism won't go away till after you stop making different rules for different people based on the color of their skin.....

Her comment is racist. It's unacceptable because of the long history of African Americans being portrayed as monkeys by racists.
