Give us a break. You're reaching. He's been called all sorts of things. The only time "ape" might appear is if Russian bots storm the Internet with supposed old tweets and this-and-that's to make it look like this is true. Roseanne's message was clear. I think she's a little off the rails at least, and they did ax her show swiftly, but she went over the line, and "It was a joke" doesn't really cut it.
Roseanne Barr sucks. That said, cancelling the show seems a bit much. It isn't like she was the only one working on the show. Unfortunately though, you can't really kill off the titular character.
I feel bad for the rest of the cast, who will be answering questions on their own beliefs for the next year or so. I feel even worse for the crew, who probably thought they had a good long term job. Unlike other mediums, there really isn’t anyplace else for the show to go now that ABC has cancelled it - it’s not like Breitbart or Infowars can add it to their channels and even if they could, I imagine most of the show’s talent (cast and crew) would be highly uncomfortable being associated with a show promoted by the right wing media.
Actually you can. Its happened in the past, when the main character actually died, or when they simply left the show. You could call it "The Connor Family" as the rest of the cast (John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Sara Gilbert) was strong enough to carry the show. btw, Wanda Sykes quit the show over Roseanne's comments before the show was cancelled.
Fox can pick it up and air it following Last Man Standing. I don't get the "it was a joke" angle at all. LOOK AT THE BLACK LADY SHE LOOKS LIKE A MONKEY AND IS AN EVIL MUSLIM is not even in the realm of anything comedic. It's just being an *******. Time for her to just go away for good, but that's been true for about 30 years.

Honestly the main thing wrong with her "joke" was that it wasn't funny. Unfunny jokes have consequences in current year.
