I doubt that they would resign either player but shipping them out early would be cold-blooded knowing how close Marwin is to Tuve and Gattis to McCann.
No contributing veteran is going to be traded. Sipp is about the only veteran who may be traded in a salary dump/make room trade. Even Gattis is probably safe, especially since he’s started hitting recently. They’re not going to mess with the chemistry. Marwin and Keuchel are not going anywhere for sure.
I was reading some articles in some other boards today wanna share some trade thoughts these other teams had. The next trades are suggested towards the Astros only from other teams to acquire players. 1. Yankees: Dellin Brtances, Clint Frazier, Everson Pereira and Justus Sheffield For Dallas Keuchal and Rogelio Armenteros Their Reason (the Astros went be able to resign him and the Yankees need pitching bad and they won't wanna get into a bidding war with other clubs. There maybe other option Madbum, Archer and Hamels. But those guys could be the polar opposite I.E. Sonny Gray 2.0) 2. Red Sox: Andrew Benintendi, Hector Velazquez and C.J. Chatham To the Astros for Marwin Gonzalez, Brad Peacock and Corbin Martin Why?(The Astros need help in the LF and have show intereast before in Andrew. The Red Sox coach Cora seems to be infatuated with Marwin and seem to wanna go all in once he becomes available this offseason. A Sp that is used incorrectly like Brad Peacock would do good in our rotation to replace a guy like Pomeranez and Corbin Martin is beasting in the minors.)
I was mentioning people's thoughts. I would take Benintendi in a heart beat. A four headed monster of tucker Reddick Springer and benintendi until Reddicks contract goes wouldn't be a bad idea. U could split them all at DH What I thought was funny was how the Yankees think they are going to get players for dirt cheap then they mention Dallas and it's like Shiefield. I think there butt hurt on Cole and Gray
According to sources the Giants may release Hunter Pence. Would the Astros consider bringing him back for the year?
Not unless he magically learned a nasty four seam and has a slider to get high leverage outs from the pen.
I sincerely hope that Luhnow and Co. kick the tires on Kelvin Herrera, if the Royals are looking at trading off pieces.
We need another reliever that can effectively get left handed batters out. Peacock has given up 5 hrs and an OPS over 1.000 against lefties. Will Harris is giving up a .343 batting average against lefties and Giles is at .303 against lefties. Rondon has been okay against lefties and Smith as well but in very limited opportunities. The only guys that have really good numbers against lefties are Devenski, Sipp, and McHugh. However, SIpp and McHugh rarely get high leverage situations. Brad Hand is a monster against lefties. Herrera has been very good as well. Raisel Iglesias is not good against lefties, but another Red, Jared Hughes, has been very good against lefties and his overall numbers are better than Devenski.
J.T.Realmuto is circling back around as a connection to the Astros. Whitley and Tucker went be involved but Yordan and 3 to 4 other mlb ready prospects could be involved although Realmuto wouldn't be the only piece comming back Barroclaugh could be involved.
Where are you seeing that? Alvarez, Stassi, Martes, and Paulino would be a great package for Miami. Although with Paulino and Martes being hurt, it may be hard to make it work. Maybe Alvarez, Stassi, Davis, and Armenteros instead.
No there saying that the Astros won't pick the 15 million dollar option up for MCCann and that they doubt Gattis will be back next year . That the Marlins want MLB ready prospects and the Astros have them. That's all. I would think Yordan Alveraz would be the main Prospect but they could also get J.B. Bukaukas and both J.D.Davis and A.J.Reed. Considering they may move Baur at the Deadline they might try and stack the position. They also Mention Corbin martin as a sweetener
