Don't blame Morey for this mess it was all Les Alexander's doing.

According to sources, if Morey didn't spend that money on Ryan Anderson, Les was gonna have someone else do it for him

Morey will move Anderson if for no other reason than so D'Antoni can't possibly play him in a Game 7 with a title on the line. I don't know what the hell he was thinking.

As far as Clutch's article, is CP3 really gonna get 35 mil a season? No one else is gonna offer him that kinda money at age 33 and with a history of injuries(including 3 of the last 4 postseasons). I suppose Capela could get a $25 mil/yr offer from some stupid franchise(*cough* Phoenix *cough*) and unfortunately we'll have to match it. Hopefully we get lucky and no one out there is that insane. Ariza isn't worth 9-10 mil. Especially after his 0-12 debacle in Game 7. He can resign for his current salary or he can hit the bricks. I definitely want Luc back, but only after he has surgery to repair that shoulder for good.

This is Les’s biggest mistake, not Morey.

The Ryan Anderson issues was obvious as early as last year as he became unplayable in the playoffs then. Couldn't get rid of him in the off season and it greatly affected building a complete enough team. Anderson was a desperate signing after a horrible 2016. The signing will be more than likely the biggest regret of Morey's tenure here.

He was at least ok in the playoffs last season. He had a few decent games including Game 4 vs the Spurs which put them back in that series before Harden crapped the bed.

I'm not defending his signing. But there is no comparison between Ryno this year(especially from April onward) and last year. The dude literally will not shoot the basketball anymore.

    DaDakota: Dust off Ryan Anderson

DaDakota: A big with range and we win!

finsraider: BOLD IDEA: Start Ryan Anderson

Charles Barkley: Mike D'Antoni needs to play Ryan Anderson

Red Nation RGV: Should we start Ryno?

    bleedroxred79: Release the Kraken!!

    elmotsangtt: lineup suggestion

MyLateRegistration: Having Ryno and not playing him is a bad look. Even Looney Plays!!

There's a good chance there would be no Gordon on this team if not for Anderson...

this is me trying to spin this positive.

That's actually the defense I used for that signing last season. That Gordon followed his Pelicans teammate here which justified the Ryno signing. But even if that's true, we're so beyond that now. If anything, it's gotta be driving EG nutz that Ryno is pulling down 1 1/2 times what he is while contributing virtually nothing.

Ryno's contract was never justified. EG's was and is an absolute steal.
Whatever it takes...get rid of Ryno

I just recall as last year went on that Anderson just wasn't enough for this team at his salary. I don't remember him doing much in the playoffs last year but I have to admit I blocked memories of that San Antonio series because of how it ended. It was obvious Anderson was an anchor for this team when the FO tried to get rid of him after just a year but it's just a horrible contract. On top of it he's a fragile mental midget. In any era but especially in the era of super teams, having a contract like Anderson's is going to be a major road block in staying competitive for a championship.

Unfortunate but its not like Ryan Anderson forced the Rockets to give him this contract - remember the Rockets came after Anderson after striking out on Kent Bazemore who they were going to give a similar sized contract too. Bazemore is horrible on the Hawks! Ryno played a big role in helping this team win 55 games last year. He played a big role earlier in the season prior to his injury. Everyone wants to **** on Ryno but he isn't a horrible NBA player, he is a specialist. Not to mention that the guy was constantly in every single trade rumor out there in the post season, that has to take a toll on him mentally. He was in a ton of trade rumors around the deadline as well and he came back and played well till he got hurt. He just never recovered from losing that starting spot unfortunately.

I think a lot of the success and how the Rockets play was thanks to getting Ryan Anderson and getting tremendous floor spacing for Harden. What was shocking (probably thanks to the Warriors and Cavs last season) was that the cap didn't go up as expected so those huge contracts in the summer of 2016 are now horrible all around for every team except Golden State.

I really wished he could have been out there but when the Rockets evolved into more of a defensive minded - ISO-offense team his lack of being able to switch on defense really hurt his ability to contribute.

    My wish for next year....

    Harden
    CP3
    Trev
    Lebron
    Capella

    Tuck
    Green
    Daren Collison
    Moute

Is this at all feasible salary cap wise?
