It would be in the leagues best interest to have the Rockets win because of one person: LeBron LeBron would have a better chance against Houston in the finals versus GS. More importantly, if Houston loses there have been rumors for months now that he may come to Houston. If he does or comes out West to any other team the east is going to be a complete disaster outside of Boston and Philly. It was bad enough this year and will be worse next year if LeBron goes west. There could be larger ratings just this year if its GS and Cavs but it could have really bad ramifiications down the road for the league. The other large issue is if Houston does beat GS it will show that they arent invincible. Silver was upset at all the tanking teams this season and for good reason too many teams felt trying to compete with GS right now would be a waste of money and rather prepare for the future when GS declines. Other teams may start "arming" themselves now to compete (talking about the other decent playoff teams) since it's not a done deal on who can be champs. All that said I am still not super hopeful about tonight with Paul's injury and this officiating crew
All that makes sense, but I also think corporations can be shortsighted and the NBA is no exception. Short-term, the Warriors are a bigger ratings draw than the Rockets. And Golden State-Cleveland is a big-time rivalry(albeit a mostly one-sided one). There's no guarantee whatsoever if the Rockets lose tonight and the Warriors presumably destroy the Cavs that LeBron comes here in the offseason. There is a guarantee however that if the Rockets get screwed over by Foster and crew that the Warriors can face off against the Cavs yet again and the league can have its marquee Finals matchup. I just have a sinking feeling(and I've had it all along) that the league will do whatever it can to pave the way for Golden State to reach the Finals again.
We need to boost that win-loss record of his. Put it in the spotlight, get in his head that people are seeing his bias.
Just once I want GS to get a game called on them like we did in game 6. I just hope that dream happens tonight. Without Durant on GS this Rockets team would be considered one of the greatest in a long time. I think we would've swept them.
I hope Foster has money on the Rockets! If not we can get Ryno to use his 20mil to kick Foster in the balls and force them to use their alternate ref.
There is no justification that Scott Foster should be reffing the biggest game of the NBA season to date. A game 7 and this ****ing clown is picked. Unreal. The line moved up to -6.5 shortly after he was announced too. Even bettors are using that info in their favor. Sickening.
