not sure how hou doesn't have enough applies. hou has put GS on the brink of elimination with not 1 but 2 games remaining, meaning they have enough. its already proven the rockets not only have the gameplan but the personnel to win. its just about execution.
I remember that paging cyberx thread you was hating so hard because nobody wanted to hear your opinion on a thread that wasn't ment for you. If I recall your complaining was the main reason why it got closed.......youre a hater.
Right, I know holic will claim "I told you so" if we lose this series, but we do "have enough." The Warriors may still be more talented, but we have them down 3-2 and our second star just got hurt. If we lose now it won't be because we weren't good enough. I still think we need to get better because you need to get better every year. The Warriors will certainly try to get better no matter what happens from here on out. This team won 65 games and the first seed. We went 2-1 against them in the regular season and now we are 3-2 against them in the playoffs, winning 3 out of the last 4 games. We've proven we have "enough." The question now is are we healthy enough to finish it off. Even if they beat us, we've proven to be their equals.
This is actually how I'm thinking about it if we do go on to lose this series. We are close, close to just being better than them period. We do have enough, just that CP3 got hurt... If we can somehow get some use out of Ryno's contract we are going to be a really terrifying team and I hope Harden continues to mature and learn how to take over in key moments.
yeah definitely, whoever loses this series will do what they can to improve their team and the other will do what they can to counter and improve as well but as of right now Hou without a doubt has everything needed and enough to beat GS. that shouldn't even be disputed.
It's one thing to be equals with them or slightly better on Defense in One season. And be better than them for several seasons..... dun you know the Difference? You got to be smart in the Offseason and lucky to sustain it and build on it to become even better.
If nothing else we can probably trade some pick combination to a team to absorb Ryno and create a TPE. That would be useful in sign and trade scenarios. I think we can get better, even if it's not adding a star.
This is offseason talk, but you are right. The hustle and grind can also fade from season to season. Tucker will be older, Ariza will be older, Paul will be older, etc. If they slow a little, boom, the switching crazy defense doesn't work so well anymore. Always have to bring in some new blood when you are an old team.
At this point, yes, it would be exactly that. Clearly, when Houston outcompetes the Warriors, especially on defense, they win. So, if they lose this series, it will be because the Warriors amped it up, and out compete Houston. Still meets the bar, but competitiveness, resolve, desire, will...those are things that get them OVER the bar.
That's not really true. The Warriors are "tough shot makers." Last night could easily have gone the other way if they made some of the silly shots they normally do. The shots that are literally impossible to defend.
What the hell is this? If we win out of the next two games, we will go on to the Finals. One out of two. That's not a guarantee by any means- the Warriors are a great team. We haven't won. But we are so close. If we make it to the Finals, whether it's against Boston or Cleveland, we would definitely be the favored team. We can improve, sure, and hopefully we will be able to in the offseason. But how much does it take to have "enough"? How can you be so arrogant and say "we ain't got enough" when we are so close to winning.. right now?
Well, they are not going to change much, so if we are better than them for this season why not next? Morey isn't going to sit on his hands we know that and I think Zhou is going to be a useful player next season, we'll see about that though. Yeah, I think this series shows we don't need another superstar to beat the Warriors. We do need to get some use out of that contract though
WTF, Holic? I was sitting here reading your post, thinking, "Even Holic is a believer now." Then I got to this ****.
Simple: Need to get rid of Capela Holic has a LOT invested in the Rockets not "having enough" this year.
Hopefully you're right. My brain tells me without Paul we're cooked. I've felt for several months that we didn't quite have enough. Paul is approaching his mid-thirties. He simply cannot play this many minutes without the tires blowing up and then burning up the rims. We've really done him a disservice. But we don't have anybody else. We need another guy. (Remember, they lost Iggy too. If he we're healthy we'd still need another guy. Because he is a huge cog of their defense that we're taking advantage of with Looney/Bell.) We need all these guys healthy and we need at least one more guy that can take further stress off both Paul and Harden and allow them both to play fewer minutes throughout the regular season and the playoffs. We have went further than what I thought we would. I thought two games, tops, against the Dubs. So this bunch has exceeded my expectations. And in the process they've clearly demonstrates the defensive answer to the Warriors. Which, in my book, is sensational. I'm a defensive guy. I know there is a defensive answer for every kind of offense, having spent 44 years of my life playing, coaching, and following this game. So I've never viewed the Warriors as the unbeatable juggernaut. Even with Durant I knew there was a defensive answer. And we've got it. This has actually turned into a battle of the defenses. Isn't that so ironic? That's why I love basketball. Because NOTHING is static in the game of basketball. It's the best game for out-of-the-box thinking, strategizing, and innovation. And in my mind we need more depth. We need a third guy to take pressure off Paul and Harden. And we need another player or two that can spread the floor while simultaneously play this great all-switching defense that has wreaked havoc on the Warriors vaunted offense. But I hope I'm wrong and you're right and somehow this group brings it home. I love PJ, Ariza, Paul, and LMM. Harden too. But those guys I just named are the heart and soul. I want to see them get a ring. And if we don't get one this year, I hope we get them back. They are my kind of players. Dirty, nasty, gritty dawgs that bust butt all the time and humbly do all the dirty jobs that have to be done on a team because they love the game and love WINNING! I hope they bring it home.
We won pivotal game 5 which is the new game 7. It's just math at this point. Welcome to the 21st century broseph.
