how many times have you seen harden start 0-4 and continue to go 1-9? if your shot is off. mix it up. use your mid range game. drive more instead of dribbling out the clock for 23 seconds and chucking brick after brick after brick. he's shooting under 32% from 3 the entire playoffs so the law of averages are not working in his favor.
James Harden... Game 1: not injured Game 2: not injured Game 3: injured Game 4: not injured Game 5: injured
The reason why is simply because he's the MVP so the bar is set high, because we all want him to do well and lead us, because he has shrunk in big moments before and is again struggling when it matters most, but most importantly because without CP3 - no matter how good he plays defensively - we lose this game and probably the series. It just doesn't look good that your MVP needs to be 'bailed out'. I really think Harden is just not ready for the big moment and he might never will, some guys just aren't, but that's exactly why we got CP3. To take that pressure off and it's not like Lebron didn't need Kyrie, it's not like MJ didn't need Kerr or Pippen, but at least those guys contributed better and didn't look like the pressure got to them. I really feel last night the pressure - paired with the emotion - got to Harden.
We're one game away from the first finals in over 20 years and people are complaining about our best player and league MVP. **** you spoiled mother ****ers. You guys don't deserve this.
I have a hard time listening to sports radio in Houston any more due to the strange trend of constant negativity.
The guy obviously isnt focused, I suspect the ladies and/or his partying is getting the best of him and is robbing him of his edge for the court... he needs to set that stuff aside and focus all of his energies on the task as hand.
Who cares what you grade him, Harden was part of the defense and the 2nd leading scorer. And the Rockets won. That's what makes criticism like yours dumb you claim he only did it on one end, he played great D and scored the second most points. Yet if he had scored 40+ and Houston lost you would call him selfish and say that he is not a leader. Which is it, do you want 40 pretty points and a loss or 19 gritty points and a win? The points will eventually come but defense and passing travels.
Harden has not had the best playoffs, up and down like usual.. but I’ll take the effort on d, and still attacking with missed shots over what it’s been in the past. This is why we got CP, at the end of the day I’m more obsessed with the rockets than arguing whether James Harden is whatever people think he is...
Did I just see a post blaming Harden for CP3 injuring his hammy? Smh, that’s some serious mental gymnastics at work.
There's two ways you can go about it. 1) You can complain about Harden's play. He's not shooting well, nor is his FTr comparable to regular season. By all metrics, his performance has suffered in the playoffs. This seems to be the route 790 is taking and of course being very edgy about. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hardeja01.html 2) You can be happy about the win & F5 for CP3 news. I just heard that you can do be concerned about Harden's performance, while also enjoy the win. Going to Max Kellerman right now for his thoughts on the matter.
