ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 5/22/2018 (Western Conference Finals, Game 4)

Draymond:

It's fine, WCF. We were fighting for 3-1, they're fighting to even it. Both teams battled. They made the plays needed to win the game. Fun game to play in. Made a lot of mistakes down the stretch. We'll be fine.

We were guns blazing in the 3rd. Started the 4th, didn't get stops. Playing against a set defense. Their halfcourt D is pretty good.

Fatigue?

Not neccessarily that. They didn't play a bunch of guys as well. It is what it is. WCF, you're battling to get to the Finals. No one is worried about fatigue.

Missed assignments defensively? Missed Andre?

Stopped trusting our D certain points during the game. We miss Andre but when we trusted our D, we were fine. Whatever it is we gotta do, we just gotta do it. We improvised a couple of times.

They made plays down the stretch, give them credit.

You got a team fighting, it should be physical. It'll be like that the rest of the way.

Win in Houston?

Go play our brand of basketball. Go in with a defensive mentality. We've won big road games.

We didn't trust our gameplan. Got away from it, it happens. Gotta stick to your gameplan if you want to win in the playoffs.

Timeout?

Tried calling it but it is what it is.

 

I literally wrote a sentence after stating that...

 

They thought they delivered the knockout punch. They didn't.

 

I'm definitely focused on those bad shots. They might be skewing my overall impression of his overall impact on the game. I'm going to watch the game again and see if he was good defensively besides the last 4 stops he got..

 

Draymond said after game 3 they were going to approach game 4 as if the Worriers were down 1-2.

I’m convinced the Worriers really wanted to get this game and were feeling pretty confident with a big lead in the 4th and the energy of their fans......

But the Rockets weathered the STORM OF STORMS and took the split that they so desperately needed.

They need to win it all now more than ever after the manifested HEART OF A CHAMPION tonight.

No small feat winning tonight....but they gotta finish it

 

harden was obviously pressing in the 4th and almost choked the game away. luckily CP3's playmaking was the difference for us. also luckily for us, harden has a chance to redeem himself in game 5 and i expect another 40+ performance (unless tony brothers is there, then we might as well play joe chee 40 minutes)

we need to run one more player off the bench because we aren't going to win 2 more games with a 7-man rotation

webber seemed to make a concerted effort to comment on houston's effort and good play to counterbalance reggie's painfully obvious GS bias

Can y’all please stop with this. Ryno has no confidence and is a lost cause.

 

The probability of them hitting a 3 ala Lilliard style with an inbound play and beating us in overtime is much higher than them grabbing the rebound and attempting a full court shot for the win or calling timeout with .2 left to only be able to attempt a heavly contested tip in.

 

I don't see many Warriors fans in the thread tonight wanting to talk basketball.

(4th Q) They(Houston) played with a level of urgency that Golden State didn't. They also played like a team without 2 guards with strained knees. Thompson leaves the game. They have to be concerned. Steph coming back from injury. Iguodala not available. blahblahblah

 

Incredible win. Not perfect and we almost let it get away but INCREDIBLE WIN.
