Crazy to think we had a 7 man rotation that included Gerald Green and he had the highest +/- on the entire court at +14 in a close game.

those defensive stops from GG on Curry was key. who knew GG would impact the game...defensively?! dude brought the energy we were lacking. hope his shot starts falling

I thought GG played like ass until he had 3 or 4 big defensive plays in a row.

What did you have to do to get your foot right?

CP3: A whole lot of treatment. A whole lot of treatment.

Is it right now?

CP3: As good as I'm gonna be right now.

Harden: We've been doing it all year long. That's why we're in the position we are today. 3rd game was just one loss. Talked about we're gonna win game 4. They made runs & we kept fighting. Defensively, kept locking in. Guys made big time shots in the 4th.

More painful, 41 point loss or coach mentioning you guys were soft?

Harden: Neither.

CP3: One thing you learn in this league, those losses, whether you lose by 1 or 41, it's one loss. Thankfully we didn't start this game down 30.

You did start down 12-0. How did you withstand that & the 3rd Q wave?

CP3: Just kept playing. We knew over the course of the game we would score. In the 3rd, you know they're gonna do it but we're capable of it too. We keep saying it's a matter of who does what they do better than the other team.

James, only 2 points in the 4th. All of the guys contributing down the stretch.

Harden: Who cares? We're a team. We're really good as a team. Chris, Eric, Trevor, Tuck, that's what a team does. I don't know how many points I scored, who cares? We won.

You've spoken all season about what you believe about yourselves. Does winning a game in this situation impact that?

CP3: Good win for us, knew we needed it. Both teams, HCA doesn't matter. Both teams can win on the road. We knew we had to get at least one here, we got it. Now it's a 3-game series.

Chris, how much of a difference did you feel in terms of explosiveness & push off that foot?

CP3: Huge difference.
Harden: He's fine.
CP3: Yeah, I'm fine. It's cool.
Harden: It's fine, He'll be alright.

Held them to 12 in the 4th quarter after playing heavy minutes. How tired were you at that point?

CP3: State of mind. It ain't just us. We grind all summer & season long for these moments. We push each other coming out of those timeouts. These are the moments we spend that time for. Mental toughness is just as important as physical toughness. We showed that tonight.

What kind of difference did that explosiveness make for you tonight?

CP3: We moved the ball, we played. Find different ways to exploit different guys, play with a bounce. Game 5, we gotta come out with that pop & bounce.

James, your observation the way Chris was able to explode tonight?

Harden: Done it for so long. Now the opportunity to do it on this stage. He was huge for us tonight.

3 years ago you were here, much different team. How far has this team & mentality come in those 3 years to grit out a win like this?

Harden: Long way. New personnel. We've been talking about it all season long. Put ourselves in the best position & we're doing it. Game 5, gotta take advantage of it.

He played very well defensively. He took two rushed 3s that seemed crucial since the score was close, other than that he only took 4 total shots.
