This was a throw a way game they knew they need to win at least 1 game Oakland I expect them to be focused for game 4. I think game 4 will come down to the wire

You are right. Rockets are 8-0 after a loss with Harden/Paul/Capela. I must have included all the wins.

only thing that could possibly stop us in game 4 would be the return of foster brothers

We didn't play GSW 5 times in a row yet so that statictics don't matter

Silver is probably waiting to see when the screwjob crew is needed. If the Cavs lose tonight to the Celtics(especially if it's lopsided), then Boston is on the verge of the Finals and I could see Foster Brothers being sent to officiate Game 4 of the WCF in order to pave the way for the Warriors. The NBA does not want Rockets vs Celtics in the Finals. But if the Cavs even the series, I could see Silver holding off on Foster Brothers til at least Game 5 of the WCF.

As for the lack of B2B losses by the Rockets, it's true that they haven't lost 2 consecutive games since early January. And CP3 and Harden when playing together haven't lost B2B games since late December. So this is a team that has shown an ability to bounce back after a loss. That doesn't guarantee a Game 4 win, mind you. It does make me somewhat confident that they won't lose 3 straight and fall at home in Game 5. But regardless, they better leave everything out there on the court tomorrow night. Game 4 is essentially an elimination game given the long odds of coming back from a 3-1 deficit.

You do realize that even if we don't lose two games in a row, we can still lose the series?

I don't know why so many fans pin their hope in the Rockets' motivation after a loss. What kind of team needs losing to motivate themselves?

If we lose the series in 7 games it would feel like a victory for the season.

People know that this team is still wildly inconsistent, inconsistent intensity level issues........mental issues.....

Maloe, you're one of the posters I really enjoy reading and respect on here. It's a given how disappointing the effort and lack of focus were last night. I hope you're not absolving the Rockets for the most part from the loss. Missed layups, refs, etc...yes they matter to an extent...but the Rockets shot themselves in the foot by in large. No excuses for not competing last night....taking things for granted.

It's amazing how only "one game" can almost completely deter some fans from supporting a team. The greater the stage, the higher the stakes and ramifications there of. Granted this is only a game...and life goes on....that's true.

But I was furious at how they did not compete last night. I'll get over it as I have with every single heartbreak I've witnessed from the Rockets over the years. My life does not revolve around the Rockets. It just seems that way in the heat of the moment of the WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS lol.

Anyway, we can all talk about what can be improved on....better rebounding, better focus defensively, making layups....players watching film.....but at some point, that fountain of Youth will dry up so to speak. The Rockets can't always rely on "next time we'll get 'em" mentality like it worked out against the Jazz and Wolves.

I haven't been THIS disappointed in the Rockets in a long time. I of course was pretty high up on the Rockets for how great they appeared to be and how they did so far in the playoffs. But man, it's not like the Warriors are a buzzsaw. They're not even that good....at least I don't think so.

Just tired of believing the Rockets are better than they really are. Game 4 would be conceivably the most difficult game for them to win. The Warriors smell blood now and even if the Rockets play well, the Warriors can also play better as well. Rockets blew a golden opportunity.
