Didn't the rest of us get there a long time ago? I've been assuming from the start that even a worst-case scenario does not mean an indictment, but would have to go to the House to consider impeachment. I don't think it's new news.

You are correct, most people were aware that Mueller could not indict a sitting president.

I think what is new though is trump's defense team is now focusing their messaging on that. Not witch hunt. Not Hillary. Not "no collusion". But instead... Mueller can't indict.

    Either Guliani is lying or....

This entire thing was a waste of time and money from the beginning.

Seriously? It's a waste of time and money if we don't end up with an indictment against a sitting POTUS? Are you serious?
Personally, I never understood that to be the point, despite the ardent hopes of some of my more liberal friends.

We're trying to get the bottom of what happened, period. The citizens of this country should know the truth of just what foreign powers did in our election and, if they coordinated this with Americans, we should know who those Americans are. If they committed provable crimes, the FBI should pursue that. We've had a lot more indictments (and guilty pleas) than I expected so far, okay. And probably more to come from the inner sanctum, but not 45 himself.

Was the Watergate investigation a "waste of time?"

Come on B-Bob. You and I both know this was about 1 thing. Getting Trump. You can dress it up all you like, but even the fricking letter appointing Mueller states:

They mention Trump and Trump only in the letter. Why do you think that is? If it was solely to get to the bottom of Russian interference, why specifically point out Trump and his campaign only? I don't see anyone else mentioned at all.

I guess you're arguing that somehow by some osmosis before they even STARTED the investigation that no other person or campaign had anything to do with Russian interference?

    That dog don't hunt.

No, because there was an actual, specific crime known as the Watergate break in that was known about that PROMPTED the investigation.

The Mueller investigation has been an investigation in search of a crime supposedly committed by the Trump campaign without even considering any other possibilites. Just read the instructions to Mueller!

This is nothing but a bold face lie and either you know it and are just F-ing with people or you really are a complete moron.

Either way there’s no way your opinion should be taken seriously again after such an asinine comment. You’ve exposed yourself.

The DNC hacking is far worse because of the fact that it wasn’t an internal American political infighting crime. This one was an attack on our country by a foreign adversary and our primary pillar of Democracy. This adversary wants to destroy our country as we know it and right now has nukes pointed towards our shores. Nixon’s RNC hacks didn’t want to destroy America... they just wanted more power within our political context by hurting the DNC.

The crime is incredibly severe and far more important to American Democratic interests that Nixon’s thugs breaking an entering. The crime is hacking among many others including conspiracy, espionage, money laundering, fraud, and potentially even as serious as murder (several deaths already linked to the Steele dossier sources) although I doubt we’ll ever get an investigation that deep at this stage to those deaths as most were Russian deaths and those hits seem to be done by professionals who cover their tracks.

Regardless... the crimes we know of now are incredibly serious and far worse than the Watergate break in and cover up even though that was still pretty damn bad. A foreign adversary manipulating our elections and poisoning the minds of half the country to turn against each other at the end of the day changes everything. And posters like the one you responded to are playing ball for that foreign adversary on their behalf. Their position here should be pretty sternly be called out for what it is... turning against fellow Americans and unsuing discord and misinformation on behalf of Russian interests.

LOL. No specific crime? The "witch hunt" alibi is getting weaker and weaker with each passing indictment and now with the republican-led Senate Intelligence report release. But, you be you.

And funny, a set of instructions, written and delivered to republican special counsel from trump's appointed acting attorney general. Directing special counsel to investigate criminal activities. Criminal activity by the trump campaign (and whoa... actually naming the person and/or group of people suspected of criminal activity... wow, that never happens!).

btw, "collusion" is not a crime on its own, but criminal conspiracy is. As is obstruction of justice. As is emoluments. As is money laundering. All things that are covered by the instructions to special counsel.

And just trump's bad luck... trump and his campaign may have engaged in each and every one of these crimes.
