ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 5/14/2018 (Western Conference Finals, Game 1)

Not going to have a bad day because of this loss, they have 4 allstars and 2 DPOY caliber players, we were always going to be overmatched. But whose bright idea was it to give the Toyota Center fans red shirts to wear while the Rockets are wearing their black jerseys? Home court advantage isn't an advantage if you don't color coordinate with your players.

 

You are not we, alot of these dudes that come here when we lose are definetly not apart of "us"

No, this feels like the 97 WCF against the Jazz where they had crisp player movement and ball movement against ISO Dream and ISO Barkley in the block. This year we have GSW as a 4 allstar version of that team on steroids who have a system designed to create easy shots against Harden and CP3 ISOing on the perimeter forced to make tough shots on the fly.

I don’t have faith in tucker and Luc making shots. That’s fine because they provide stellar defense. I do think Anderson and Green can have some value offensively but they’re complete liabilities defensively. The team is stuck because there are too many one way players. We’re going to need elite play from Harden, CP3, Capela and superb shotmaking from Gordon and Ariza to win.

 

If Luc and Tucker cant play solid defense, they are useless on the court.

 

i really hope the rockets are not having a case of players slumping at the worst time.

gordon has been AWFUL 90% of the playoffs,
luc has simply been terrible offensively since his shoulder injury. can't finish around the basket, can't shoot.
ariza's 3 point shooting has dropped form the regular season.
anderson is basically a $20 million ghost.

harden and cp3 are gonna do harden and cp3 things there is little faith that those 4 guys are gonna suddenly turn it on this series.

really hope they do because the rockets need it.

 

I have a very silly conspiracy theory. *Tinfoil hat on*. First of all let me get this out of the way...refs obviously didn't lose the Rockets this game. Rockets bench didn't show up and Durant was hitting from everywhere. But they also didn't help us. Their was no home-court benefit at all..they called it for the most part fair, which is sort of odd. You would think they would want to extend this series since Warriors-Rockets game always kill in ratings. Tony Brothers and Scott Foster are the league's hitmen and they extended the Sixers-Celtics to game 5 just last week. Last year's conference finals and finals lost the league a lot of TV revenue because they were not competitive at all. It's possible that they were expecting to execute their plan tonight but the announcement came out earlier today that betting was legalized and the NBA would get 1% of all bets from now on. Silver has been fighting for this and today he finally got his wish. He doesn't want the first game after the announcement at all to appear influenced, especially with the government having eyes on the league now. The league is going to get a boost of extra revenue from this anyway so he their is less incentive to sway games now. The home-court "advantage" is less important now. No more 50-50 or close calls going towards the home team, which the hurt the Rockets today. Not saying their influence would've given the Rockets the W though..the Rockets played poorly and the Warriors played well enough to get the W. But I think legalized sports betting hurt the home court advantage the Rockets had fought for all season. It was for naught. *Tinfoil hat off*

 

We can't do anything about it, they are the best team ever assembled, ****ing b**** ass Durant is nothing but a snake, just play hard every single game and hope for the best.

 

Enough with the pity party rockets fans we lost game 1 big deal question is what can we do to win game 2 one-game-at-a-time. Gotta have James not dominate the ball so much so other people can do other things as a just stand around shoot threes, 2. We gotta run actions not just switch then one on one offense. 3. Nene n Anderson can never see the court.

 

Honestly i really dont think Nene did that bad. He prolly defended Durant the best tonight.

It helps when you have a player the size of Clint Capela that can also hit shots from absolutely anywhere on the floor, a few of the best shooters of all time, and some versatile and gigantic wings/pfs.
