http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...rockets-having-edge-in-2018-wcf-we-have-rings (Cannot post video; someone feel free) Steve Kerr and his arrogance really irks me (I can see why Jordan jabbed him back in the day). His cocky smirks and when the subject of the rockets comes up; he never shows us respect. This one here is another one. The whole “we have rings” comment is just another “f U” smack in our faces. I’d love nothing more than to watch steven Kerr’s post game press conference after we eliminate them! Monday can’t get here soon enough!!
He doesn't have to show respect. He can hide behind his rings and players all day. Does a lotto winner have to give away money?
Just beat them. Punch them in the mouth, that loud mouth of Dramond Green. That's all. I kinda like we are being viewed as the underdog and no one picks us to win. All we need is a big punch in the first game to create a shock effect. That Warrior team is soft IMO.
Lol, there's lot of people that are easy to hate on the Warriors, Kerr isn't one of them in my opinion.
Respect is earned. Until the Rockets can prove they deserve that respect by beating the Warriors, what else do you expect from Kerr? This idea that the Rockets are "peers" with the Warriors are only in the minds of Rockets fans. Everyone else is expecting a beatdown, including the Warriors themselves.
Its amazing. I've been watching videos of these so called analysts all talk about how the Warriors are tired of the Rockets talking smack and that if we wanted them, we got em talk. "They want to shut the Rockets up." How does everyone continually look past how arrogant and douchey that entire team acts?
So I watched the video, and some of y’all really need to stop getting mad over nothing. This just makes CF look extremely sensitive.
This is true, but it's also not like they steam roll amazing teams like it's nothing year in and year out. They were tested once in 2016 and were down 1-3 before their new mercenary for hire choked it away and then they themselves choked in the Finals. They really didn't earn anything in the playoffs. They've played teams with crucial injuries ever since they've been relevant. I think the way they're behaving is very entitled and not in any way like dynasties have behaved. Yet they're still the baby face sweeties of the NBA no matter how smug they continuously behave. But, i guess what do you expect from these so called "champions" that had to go beg a former MVP in his prime to come join them.
Reporter: "The Rockets are very good this year." Kerr: "So what? We were very good last year." Great response.
It's bizarre to me that the Warriors don't get more ish for having a 73 win season, winning COY/MVP (or was it WB?) and giving up a 3-1 lead in the finals...do they really have a right to be so cocky? I think their arrogance makes them vulnerable.
Ya, but that's one minor thing that he accidently made public. If we judge everyone by what we believe their private opinions to be we could say anything about anyone. Difference with guys like Draymond, Zaza, KD, and Bob Myers is that they intentionally do public things with the intent of being a**holes. Focus the hate in their direction, plenty of better options to choose from.
That wasn't really that arrogant... Am I missing something? I'm also hating how sports media is acting as if the Rockets constantly talk smack about the Warriors when they really don't.
Part of me is mad and offended. But the other part is like yah, this is what is missing from today's NBA -- hatred and on-court drama. I've heard former NBA guys talk abt how ridiculous it is that these guys are so friendly with each other before and after games. I kinda miss those tense moments. However, it's cocky and risky. You don't necessarily have to insult the other team -- just don't praise them like an ol' Mack Brown post conference.
The Steve Kerr "This is Your Coaching Life" tour continues into the WCF. He went up against a mentor in Pop, a guy who was on his staff for the first Warriors title, Gentry, and now a guy he worked with while at Phoenix in MDA. Wonder if "Big Chief Triangle" will emerge to coach LeBron and the Cavs if the W's make it to the Finals again?!
There have been more smug moments from Kerr than the clip presented (still dripping with smugness IMO), but GSW is a smug franchise in general. From Kerr, to Curry, to the owner, they have a distinct dismissive, self-confident, attitude toward their competition. It's annoying, but I'm fine with it. The Media has seemed to adopt this way of thinking now to.. It seems like everyone is piling on because the Rockets aren't afraid to try or afraid to lose to the Warriors. I've watched all these sports shows and most of the experts are literally laughing at the Rockets chances.
