They fired Hinkie way too soon. I think the Sixers would have kept the #3 and drafted Tatum. Tatum's shooting, Simmons' playmaking and Embiid's defense would have fit together perfectly. Too bad they went full Colangelo.
so you ignored the fact that this man shot 57% from the field and averaged 25.7 PPG in the series? If you think Giannis is inefficient, you shouldn't look at Harden's game logs this postseason. They are ugly,
You mean 2nd round game logs? Not sure Giannis has any of those. Follow your heart and go become a Bucks fan, although I KNOW must of the board will miss your hot takes.
Yup. That's the reason they lost. Brad Stevens is a smart guy. A second/third tier coach would not have the guts to tell his team to leave so much space for Simmons
It's easy to hate on marcus smart though. His shamless flopping and falling down all the time is infuriating.
We were talking about SHOOTING. Giannis' entire repertoire consist of driving to the lane with 3 massive steps from the 3-point line. He's a 57% shooter because he scores in the paint or on fast breaks. His actual SHOOTING is horrible. Giannis can't knock down a 3PT consistently, which is the death penalty in today's NBA. Boston dared him to make 3PT shots in game 7 and he was 25% from 3PT. He's an efficient scorer sure, but not a good SHOOTER.
J.J. Redick said he and the Sixers organization have a mutual appreciation for each other and if the money is right, he'll almost certainly remain in Philadelphia. "I don't want to offend any of the other places I have been," Redick said, "or teams I have been on but this was probably my favorite year of my career. Playing in Philly is it's own experience and our fans, the city, the buzz about sports and about this team was amazing." J.J. was second on the team in scoring and a veteran leader during Philly's breakout year. They'd love to have him back as much as he wants to be back. ___________________ [...] What about Redick? He signed a very rich $23 million deal last summer, with the assumption that that money would go toward a max free agent like James. It seems apparent that Redick's return would be contingent upon him taking a pay cut. But the desire is undeniably there for the Duke product to return. As he addressed the assembled Sixers' media (or at least the ones who made it just hours after their playoffs ended), he struggled to tip toe around his true intentions and desires. "I don't want to offend any of the other places I have been," Redick said, "or teams I have been on but this was probably my favorite year of my career. Playing in Philly is it's own experience and our fans, the city, the buzz about sports and about this team was amazing." Redick, who averaged career highs in points (17.1 per game) and assists (3 per game), added: "I think there's something to be said for continuity." When will he make his decision and how? Well, he wants to relax and will take six weeks before he sits down and discusses his playing future with his agent and Sixers' GM Bryan Colangelo. But how much will money factor into his thinking? "It’s a mutual appreciation," he said. "I am sure we all hope that but the numbers can get tricky. It's not my job to worry about that. "In terms of financially, that’s always something a free agent has to weigh. You have to weigh contract length, AAV, total value, winning, proximity, you weigh all those things." Redick smiled when he said "proximity." You can bet, if the price is anywhere close to right, Redick will be back in South Philly for 2018-19. Link
Yeah I don't think so. It was nice to rent a spot-up shooter for a year at $23 million, but this is the summer the Sixers have to make decisions that impact them for the next 5 years while Saric, Simmons, and Fultz are still under rookie contract. Sixers will have close to $40 million in cap space to pursue LeBron or George. They could trade Covington and Bayless to open up an additional $20 million in cap space. Embiid comes off his rookie contract and starts making max money next season at $25 million. I don't see Sixers wasting even a discounted $12-15 million on Redick. He's MLE type play at this point in his career.
