Hope the kid is OK. He's well on his way to being a star in this league. Like a lot of rooks, he needs work on his defense, but you can't teach his talent. You've got it or you don't. Now move this puppy to Dish!
22 points in a quarter, facing elimination, is no joke. Special player, and both Chris Paul and James Harden agree.
Who gives a ****? He scored 24 points on 22 shots a game in the playoffs. He is a good young player but he was on a team that covered his defensive weaknesses and let him shoot whenever he wants. He can compete with the glut of under 25 year old good young players.
He didn’t have a particularly good series but that third was a show. He’s a future star for sure. A lot of skills.
Let me know when any ROOKIE played as well as Mitchell did in the Playoffs. That's why he's way ahead of any young player that has come out as of late.
Mike was an idiot for not putting Capela in as soon as he hit 3rd shot in a row. Streaky players like those, once they see daylight and gain confidence, get very hard to stop. A good defensive coach would have called a time out right away and inserted Capela back in the lineup to shut that crap down. Also, Nene has been trash. As I said, we needed another big rim protector. Once Clint sits, team start attacking us with success because they know once they get past the initial defence, its easy buckets inside.
That 3rd quarter was hell, but the game is 4 quarters. The highlights really highlighted that 3rd quarter by the rook from Utah. He's special, but Utah is getting more hype than the team who moved on. Huh?
Every rookie needs to work on defense. But I don’t see it as a particular weakness for him. He works hard on that end, he’s intelligent, and he has a good frame for being an effective defender even with the smallish height.
