    I agree with you.

Alvarez appears to be the more talented and complete hitter. Some of the advanced statistics for Alvarez are very impressive.

Tucker may end up being the more complete and better player. I have to say that Tucker has a Josh Reddick vibe to him in some ways.

Not that it means anything is certain, but Duncan was removed from QCs roster last week. Of course I’m sure he’s still physically there and was only removed for roster limit management purposes.

Tuck has more pop than Reddick but I could see Tuck's floor being Reddick now.

I don't think people get how impressive he has been. The only players in AA over the last ten years with a comparable HR/FB rate and Swinging Strike rate are a 29-year old back in 2010 and Correa. That level of pop with that level of contact is very rare in the same person in AA. Only thing he appears weak on is that he doesn't get that many balls elevated.

Peter Solomon allowed three hits, walked two, and struck out eight over five shutout innings for Quad Cities.

Did the Astros go down to 1 DSL team? Looks like all the players are on 1 roster now on the Astros minor league affiliates website. But they also don’t show any of the most recent signees (Tokar, etc.) so maybe they will end up still having 2 teams.

When the Astros announced their minor league coaches, they only announced 1 DSL manager. Sounds like Astros are down to 1 DSL team.

MLB.com just announced a few updates to their top 100 prospects list. Yordan Alvarez is now up to 82 from 97. If he continues to hit like this he should arguably be a top 50 prospect by the end of the season.

I tried to check past announcements of staffs to see if they ever announced two coaching staffs, but couldn't find anything to confirm it. BA had the Astros still signing 46 players, which doesn't seem like a huge drop from 56 last period (and 46 the period before) so if they're dropping to one team, they're keeping about the same amount of players.

Quad Cities pitching staff has been ridiculous, they've struck out almost 60 more hitters than the next closest team (~2 K/9 difference), and despite that 28 run game, they actually have the lowest runs/9 rate by .2

That would be interesting, especially given they cut out Greeneville.

    Exactly.
MLB has notoriously out dated prospect rankings.

Between the 44 guys showing on the single dsl roster and the addl 25 guys I show having signed with Houston during the last int’l period who aren’t there, that’s 69 guys for 1 team, so there is likely to be both aggressive promotion and shorter leashes for release. Further complicating things is there are another 48 guys still on the TC, Greeneville, and GCL rosters. And of course they will add 30+ guys in the draft in June. So that’s 150+ guys for 3 rosters. I’d guess they could only keep around 110. A lot of young men’s dreams will end in June.

Tyler Ivey completed the shutout: 4 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 7 K. Ivey now has 40 strikeouts against 6 walks in 26.2 innings this season.

Quad Cities won 9-0; Marcos Almonte (2 2B, 3 RBI, R) and Corey Julks (2B, 2 RBI, SB) did some damage from the bottom of the order as they both finished with two hits on the day.

    Brett Adcock: 5 IP, 2 H, 5 BB, 7 K
    Kit Scheetz: 4 IP, 8 K

How do the roster rules work in the DSL? Can they shuffle guys at the Academy back and forth onto the active roster?
