ESPN should do a 30 for 30 special if Morey moves Ryan Anderson's contract this summer to make room for LeBron. That wizardy will be legendary...even moreso than his moves for Paul last summer.

I think this is right. Lebron probably knows that Houston isn't realistic logistically, no reason focusing on it.

Nick doesn't have any sources.. if he wants to play off the ball then Houston it is.

"Houston it is" as long as Cleveland will take a bad trade or Lebron plays for cheap.

Still have no real reason to believe Fertitta will pay CP3 or Capela, much less LeBron. I sure hope he will though.

I mean I worry about his willingness to spend as well, but he has said he will pay them.

I don't get this take at all. Do you have reason to think he won't? TF literally said that Capela is going to cost him a ton because of his recent performance.

If Lebron doesn't come to the H, he will not catch Jordan.

Maybe it's just me but it's illogical to spend $2+ billion on a team only to penny pinch on player contracts...especially to pay players that will add to your franchise's value like a LeBron james.

I said I hope he will. No reason to believe he will. We don't know how he operates yet.

Dude wants to win. He will pay them. Just hope if CP3 is signed, it’s not for more than 3 years.

player contracts are the biggest cost and spending 2 billion puts you in huge debt.

If Tilman was that worried about being in debt then maybe he shouldn't have bought the team? If Tilman didn't want to invest in his biggest purchase by signing top flight talent then maybe he should stick to his restaurants?

I don't own a business but it doesn't take much to know that if you bought something for $2+ billion you'd like to see a decent level of ROI down the road and the best way to do that is to invest in the team so it consistently wins. I just can't see any possibility of a guy forking over that much money and not do his homework on the financial cost to maintain his investment.

Fertitta has been bankrolling UH to make the football and basketball programs competitive for years now. Winning is important to him. He'll spend to keep Rockets competitive.

yeah im sure being the owner of the fertitta center, golden nugget casinos, landry's, hotels, kemah boardwalk amongst other things has him worried about debt

his net worth is 4.4 billion as of march 2018. he has no problem spending when it comes to investing in houston sports. hes been doing it for UH for years

Would that necessarily be a bad trade though? If Lebron bolts they're forced to tank and rebuild from zero, at that point Ryan Anderson on a two year deal wouldn't be that big of an issue for them since they won't compete anyway. If in the deal they can get a couple of first rounders, a couple of second rounders (and possibly a good asset like Gordon) to send Lebron in the other conference instead of losing him for nothing...why not? The only problem i can see in this scenario is if getting Anderson back means staying in luxury, or better, if his contract would be the difference between being in the luxury or not.

    "Then don't buy the team"
    "stick to your restaurants"

These aren't strategeries based on the real world. Also signing LeCry doesn't give you long term anything like signing Harden does. The NBA has serious luxury cap penalties and Les consistently avoided the tax even before more penalties were added.

Player contracts and avoiding the tax are not penny pinching, they are the main cost component.

If the season goes as planned and the Rockets and Cavs lose to Golden State, I'd say we're in decent position to trade for him at the end of June. LeBron isn't about to spend the last stretch of his career with no hope.
