The offense is putrid. The bullpen is a dumpster fire. The starting pitching will eventually falter for a bit and when that happens it’s goodnight Astros. Even though its only the beginning of May, I am really concerned. The team isnt showing any signs of life outside of our 3 great starters, and we are wasting those guys too. It’s very hard to repeat. We are getting everyones best shot and the Astros just aren’t responding. It’s a typical WS hangover and hopefully this team will learn from it. Just absolutely hate watching us blow great pitching performances constantly. The pen is in shambles already. I am hoping that the Astros regroup and catch fire but they look really lost at the plate and everyone in the bullpen pees down their leg in the 9th inning. Even though the Astros cling to a winning record, I would have to say that this season is a disaster so far. Still real early though....
Baseball is a long, long, long season Our FO isn’t going to make any crazy moves just because we aren’t dominating every phase of the game Look at baseball as a whole this year, first time ever there are more Ks than Runs Strikeouts at an all time high and it isn’t close I would love to see Gattis either returned to part time catcher or moved I would love to see Tucker in TF, White or Davis at DH But I’m not about to go into panic mode in early May of a baseball season, especially with where we are
Offense: 7th in runs. So 23 teams more putrid Bullpen ERA 8th in baseball, 22 worse dumpster fires And yea I agree that rotation will implode any day Lol, how bad rockets gonna lose the next three games?
Forever, it’s a long long season If we had a losing record your stupidity could at least have a tiny bit of basis You are calling a team that, while struggling, is still on pace for over 90 wins, chumps You either aren’t smart, don’t understand baseball, or have the attention span of a puppy
If Jake Marisnick got 15 hits in a row he still wouldn't be hitting .300 for the season and his strikeout rate would still be over 40%.
I am glad I didn't buy season tickets on emotion. I had a feeling they would do this after a world season win. Hopefully the rockets keep the city excited.
Jake isn’t a good hitter and Fisher isn’t (at least at this point of his career) either. It’s time to either promote Tucker or go get an Adam Jones type to take the hole out of the lineup
And won more than every team named Red Sox, Yankees or Diamondbacks But yea it’s May and we are trash and let’s panic lol
I made it a point to take everyone off of my ignore list over the offseason, 'cause you know everyone deserves a second chance and maybe people have learned something. The list was getting hungry the past month or so. The past 2 weeks it was starving. All good now. You are a ****ing dumbass.
Why does this only work one way? Why will the starting pitching falter, but you don't think the offense will improve?
Remember how Boston was unbeatable for a while last season? And then the Dodgers were the best team ever and the Astros had no shot? And then Cleveland won 20+ games in a row and no one had a chance? And how the Astros were left for dead in July and August? None of the teams will look the same in October as they do now. If you think we might not win their division, then these current struggles are a major problem. Otherwise, the goal is just to be the best team in October.
Basically, I am saying that IF the offense doesnt get it going we are just n trouble as our starting pitching cant keep this up all season. We are approaching .500 and playing on a crap trend. I realize it’s early and have stated that in several posts. However, no Astro fan can be happy with the offense or bullpen this season.
We aren’t on pace to win 97 games anymore. Further, right now we lose the division but okie dokie. On a side note this is the 10th time the Astros have scored 1 run or less this season. Right now the Astros are scoring one run or less between 25% and 30% of the time. You aren’t winning with that type of production. The Astros need some help.
True but do you feel confident in the BP? Gattis looks like he's done, his bat speed has really slowed down even further than it did last year when his HR's fell off dramatically. Do you think Marwin had a career year? I do. Both Jake and Fisher are below the Mendoza line. If one could get going and I would bet on Fisher and Tucker gets called up on June 8th maybe the offense will improve some. But to get to next years level of offense Luhnow has to make a move and since that's a given in my mind, the sooner the better.
