This is just bad baseball, imagine where this team would be with just average starting pitching, we'd be several games under .500
Last season every little thing seemed to go right. This season is shaping up to be the complete opposite.
That's a horsesh!t ****ing corksucking call. What is Bregman supposed to do? eta: Q: how did Hinch not get tossed? A: the ump knew he blew the call
It's unfortunate because the first run was scored by a guy who struck out yet was given an incorrect walk instead.
This reminds me a lot of what the Cubs went through last year. Everyone in Cubs land said “it’s early”. We are coming up on the quarter mark of the season. It isn’t early any more and THIS is who the Astros are without some substantive changes. Just have to hope we win the division.
descalzo wasn't even supposed to be on first base. That was a 3rd strike on him, ump gave him the walk. Then the bs interference.
On the bright side, we already knew they weren't going to win 1-0, so this is just setting up late game heroics.
Interference can be challenged when it's not initially called on the field, so why couldn't have been reviewed to reverse the call?
Does seem that way. Last year this team made a habit out of converting plays like that, which they did only to have it overturned by a BS interference. Last season this team would easily score runs in a first and third, no out situation. They're certainly struggling right now, but what I take solace in is the fact that the team struggled post-All Star break and were bad in August. If May is our bad month, I'll take it, if it means the rest of the season they play like the team they are supposed to be.
You could argue that the runner actually impeded Bregmans ability to get the ball. I’ve never seen that before. A baseball flop...
