spin it however you want, but doesnt change the fact that rump was once again caught in a lie. he said he did not know who david duke was and that he knew nothing about him...but in the 90's and early 2000's he had made multiple comments about how terrible he thought david duke was.

again, trump is a pathological liar.

so why did trump lie about it then?

    Who cares. They aren't associated.

MSNBC wasn't running commentary on Trump knowing Duke.

They were running commentary on the two being associated.

All that stupidity started cause has been never was Duke says he liked Trump. Why does Trump even have to respond to thatt. Any idiot can say they like Trump

or attempt to defend indefensible things he does or says.
again, you can spin however you want but it does not change the fact that trump lied about not knowing who david duke was when he was asked to disavow him.

Who cares. It's a typical non issue. It has no bearing on how his presidency has gone so far.

As far as disavowing Duke, the reason we know Trump lied is because he already disavowed him in the past.

And again you're missing the point. Regardless they aren't associated

My first post on the subject said that MSNBC was reporting as if they were associated. I haven't been proven wrong that they aren't

    1. It wasn't just some issues that Trump and Duke agreed. Some of the things Trump did that Duke liked was saying there were good people there with the Neo-Nazis, and try to give an equivalence between protestors and the neo-Nazis.

Are you pulling this crap intentionally? David Duke hasn't given me his support. If he did I would state very clearly and precisely that I don't want his support. His support isn't welcome in any way shape or form with me. Trump never did that. Trump refused to do that. Trump didn't do that because doing so would hurt him with many of his supporters.

You seem to have focused one story that was on MSNBC. I don't know enough about the specific coverage to which you are referring. I can't help you with that. But there is no problem with covering Duke supporting Trump and then Trump trying to get away from it by lying. As soon as Trump lied through his teeth about it, he made it more of a story and one that is valid for any news organization to cover.

I must not have seen the specific story to which you are referring. I don't believe you understand what the story is saying. I have seen stories saying that Trump was lying when he claimed he didn't know who Duke was and then proved Trump was lying by showing Trump's own words.

I believe they were saying Trump knew who Duke was, not that they were an actual person to person type of associates.

No I'm focusing on the same type unfair linking of Trump and Duke you're doing.

What issues do they agree on besides tougher border security

I’ll have to phrase my answer carefully. I am answering the question you asked which says “what issues do Trump and Duke agree on other than border security.” I am not addressing anything else. Just that question. I am NOT NOT NOT saying Trump and Duke are associated.

That being said, I suspect Trump and Duke agree on a lot of issues. Gun control, taxes, etc. Again, not saying they are associated. I imagine Duke’s political positions align with a number of conservatives since he is a conservative.

Well then that's where your problem is. Like the news, I'm not linking the two except in Duke's support of Trump, the things Trump has done to earn that support and things Trump continues to do. I'm also discussing Trump's lies about Duke when questioned on the topic.

All of those things are factual, and not some made up linkage. It doesn't mean the two are hanging out together on the weekends or working on projects together or anything else. The news never made those claims either that I have seen.

Trump wants support from people like duke. It’s simple. It’s an easy and fair observation. To think that’s unfair... playing the victim card, willful blindness, troll... take your pick.

you keep trying to argue something that i dont see anybody claiming. and it actually is an issue when in the 21st century the president of the united states needs his arm twisted to disavow david duke and also says neo-nazis are "very fine people".

this is a pathetic level of spin. trump lied about not knowing who david duke was b/c he had already disavowed him in the past? so why didnt he do it as president? most of us know why...he didnt want to alienate his racist/neo-nazi supporters.

where did they do this? you keep saying that joy reid was claiming trump and duke were "associated". i google searched that and couldnt find anything. she does speak about trumps lies about not knowing who duke was and his failure to disavow duke and neo-nazis in general, but i didnt see anything where she claimed they were "associated". seems like youre just trying to argue semantics.

ive asked before, but ill ask again...how do you go from a hard-core obama supporter who would get super-upset with anyone who was critical of him to a hard-core trump supporter who gets super-upset with anyone who is critical of him? i dont think your account was hacked...you are acting just as hysterical and irrational in your defense of trump as you did in your defense of obama so i believe its the same person.

    Im not spinning anything.

Trump saying he didn't know Duke isn't an issue whether he liked or not.

MSNBC and other news agencies did try to associate then. If he was associated with a former grand dragon, that would be an issue

You're telling me what I'm trying to argue, I never denied he lied about knowing he knows of Duke. I'm saying it's s non issue.

    @jo mama

This post represents what I'm talking about.

The reason we know Trump knows of Duke is because he disavowed Duke.

Yet I'm willfully ignorant saying Trump doesn't want to be associated with Duke?

I'm asking you a simple question. What issues does Trump tout that would make Duke support him since that's your claim

Duke is known for being a KKK leader and politician. So I'm asking as a KKK leader, what policies on race does Duke find appealing about Trump?

Border patrol is about Hispanics for instance.

So...to be clear...this is a different issue than what I originally replied to in this particular line of conversation. I originally commented on your comment which was a general comment as opposed to this more specific question. I have never before in this conversation (to be clear, this is the second response I have made on your posts regarding Duke and Trump) made a comment regarding racial policies that Duke and Trump agree on.

Now that my disclaimer has been made, I will make another. I have never stated that Trump and Duke are associated and I have no intimate knowledge on their common racial beliefs, so the following is simply speculation on my part and I am in no way stating this as factual knowledge.

I imagine that Duke and Trump share similar thoughts on border protection. I imagine Duke and Trump share similar thoughts on stronger vetting for middle Easterners and those attempting to immigrate from African countries. That being said, I am sure many, many Americans share those same thoughts and it is not unique to the two of them. I suspect that at least publicly Duke is much more hard core towards race (in a bad way) than Trump. I don’t know what’s in Trump’s heart to comment on his true racial tendencies.

Sharing political ideologies is not indicative of ‘association’.

    Bobrek

Respectfully, I'm not arguing. I'm just responding that you may have meant something, but the post you're responding to may have been in response on something else.

For instance I asked franchiseblade what political subjects draw Duke to Trump because he said that there were issues that drew Duke to Trump.

Then you answered the question so I'm assuming you answered it as I clearly meant what I'm particularly asking
